Minecraft Username: IceFireXD Brief Description: Breeding Villagers is no longer possible on skyblock. Instructions: Create a villager breeder and supply the breeding pair with ample food (i recommend bread as it only takes 3 bread to breed once) How many times did you recreate this?: 3 times. twice on my own island (separated by more than 100 blocks to prevent village overlap/interconnection), and once on Krobkin's island which has no other doors or villagers to compete against. Result: The villagers produce hearts as expected, but no baby villagers ever appear. The frustration symbols that indicate they're unable to produce any more villagers do NOT appear. Expected Result: A baby villager to be produced moments after the breeding pair generate hearts. Evidence: Krobkin's island and my own island. I know the breeder used to work as i successfully bred 20 villagers to stock my iron golem farm. one day, both of my breeders just... stopped making baby villagers. it was slow for only 1 day before just completely stopping all together. this is the breeder design i used. https:// youtube .com/watch?v=rBwXY4TGo4Q (broken intentionally to avoid embedding)
@UnitedStates2 please examine this, however as nothing was changed in this regard for months I highly doubt it's a bug.
Went ahead and tested this on my island since I have no active villages. After a couple if design flaws(incorrect sky access of the village I believe) I was able to produce a breeding. My breeder(yes its messy): Then I killed the baby, to restart the cycle. 4-5 minutes later Another baby! I had a look at IceFire's setup on Krobkins island, which is similar to his on his island. I believe the issue is a lack of sky access. He has all his doors roofed along with a slab roofing above it. I did some testing. Doors not roofed(except for the mandatory block that makes it a "village") and a slab covering, produced no babies after the villagers attempted several times. Added a few more blocks over the doors. This setup produced a baby and I have 4 of 12 doors uncovered, but still have the slab roof, which I know is used to protect the villagers from lightning on Skyblock. What I would suggest is giving one of the doors sky-access to complete the valid village. @andrewkm Tl : Dr Appears to be a design flaw of the breeder set up, I was able to produce 4 or 5 babies in the time I spent testing different flaws.
It’s almost always a design flaw.. the best way to breed villagers is at the highest point of your island with nothing above the “village” I found that even if there are blocks several hundred blocks away it is considered blocking daylight which is required to breed. Typically this is found in infinite designs with only a few doors. Just make sure there is nothing between the “village” block and the sky and it should work. I have had much better success with the 40 door crop designs with wood planks over the doors and glass over the crop.. if you have a brown coat they will supply the food for you. As long as the village is a loaded chunk they will breed.
