Minecraft Username: myminecrafter01 Brief Description: You are unable to restock trade signs when the sale quantity is greater than one stack. Instructions: Create a trade sign which sell more than one stack of a certain item. Right click, attempting to restock that trade sign with the quantity which you are selling in you inventory. Get error message: Error: There is nothing to collect from this trade sign. How many times did you recreate this bug?: Many Result: You are unable to restock trade signs which sell more then one stack of an item. Expected Result: I expect to be able to restock a sign with a sale quantity greater than one stack if you have enough of that item in your inventory. Evidence: In the image you can see that I have more then 500 dirt in my inventory but I'm unable to restock the sign.
Your expected result is incorrect. When restocking signs, you may only restock up to one stack at a time. Your restocking will be at a multiple of the sell amount. For example, if you are selling 10 carrots per purchase and you restock with a complete inventory of carrots, you will only be able to restock 60 per click. If you are holding less than 10 in your hand, even if you have more stacks in your inventory, you will get that error message. This has always been this way. You can create the sign and initially place an entire inventory, but restocking is maxed at only one handful at a time.
Just because it's always been this way doesn't mean it's proper behaviour. It should at least try to fill the minimum required for the sign.
I didn't describe the expected behaviour in the best way but I think you understand my point. The most likely reason it has always been his way is because no one has reported this issue. There maybe a technical reason why this couldn't work, I haven't looked through the source code, but I'n certain it could be updated to accommodate this.
Would be great if this could be fixed, It's time consuming when selling bulk materials as you have to keep breaking the sign in order to refill it. Not everyone who visits my store has a ton of patience.
My bet is it compares hand stack size instead of total inventory amount to determine whether you have enough.
