Minecraft Username: @RealRichNixon Brief Description: The magic shovel mechanics have been behaving oddly. Breaking blocks that enclose water will not cause the water to flow -- it remains stationary. Breaking blocks of a portal outline will leave the portal contents in tact. (Walking through the portal does give the dizzy effect like when going to the nether, however it doesn't allow teleportation there, which is good.) The portal (block?) can be broken with a magic shovel. There was an example of this at around /tpc -7198 8868, if it hasn't been destroyed already. Breaking blocks where torches are present doesn't cause the torch to drop, as would be expected. The torch instead stays in its position. Instructions: 1. Break blocks that surround a portal or a body of water. Alternatively, break blocks that a torch is located on. 2. Notice that the portal effect does not break, nor does the water flow, nor does the torch fall to the ground. How many times did you recreate this?: Several, with other users being able to as well. Result: Items affected by gravity or whatever nulls their effects are not being applied correctly. Expected Result: Items affected by gravity or whatever nulls their effects should be applied correctly. Evidence:
Been there, seen that. Although there are soft facts suggesting the player @GolD45 was placing hacked blocks. /j nah that's not true. But the odd mshov behavior exists.
Looks like we stopped triggering physics updates as a work around for; https://ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/magic-shovel-giving-drops-for-doors.226670/ But it seems players are obviously wanting the physics updates. We will rollback the fix for the above, and see if perhaps we can figure out another way to go about that bug report, as obviously physics updates seem to be much more important.
On the other hand, I do really love that magic shovels now make clean tunnels where no gravel falls on you, and no lava or water ruins the perfect 11x11 space. Very pleasing visually, and makes mining easier.
We've now fixed the behavior in this thread, as well as made a work around for the door issue. Please confirm when you get a chance @RealRichNixon.
