Minecraft Username: DanieliMurphy Brief Description: While mining with jobs activated, /jobs log shows Deepslate Redstone ore giving unusually high rewards out of line of everything else Instructions: 1. Join Novice, apprentice and initiate miner jobs. 2. Mine deepslate Redstone ore 3. Check /jobs log, for rewards How many times did you recreate this?: 0 - mining it seems to give correct payout after attempting to reproduce Result: Rewards way above expected. Expected Result: Correct rewards for mining deepslate redstone ore Evidence:
Do you know if you actually received the rewards listed on /jobs log? According to my previous tests, the numbers on /jobs log seem to change (seemingly randomly) after relogging and do not match with my actual income from the jobs.
i wasn't keeping track so i cant confirm, but everytime I relog the figures (as you mentioned) seem to jump without effecting my /bal, points etc so that seems to answer that
Does the "jump" correspond to what is displayed in /jobs info NoviceMiner and /jobs info InitiateMiner (before the deepslate redstore ore is broken)?
Yeah, with my initial testing it looks like there is some discrepancy between what /jobs log shows vs what you are earning/what shows as being earned on your action bar stats. I'm adding this to my to-do list to look into it further on my days off.
After further testing I have found that the /jobs log is actually showing what you earned properly and it is the Action Bar messages that are not displaying the correct amounts, hence the discrepancy I was noticing. I have reported this issue to the developer and we await a response. As for the /jobs log randomly showing different amounts after relogging - I haven't been able to re-create this myself. @DanieliMurphy @314 please do let me know if you are able to reproduce this consistently.
I can definitely confirm that /jobs log does not properly report earnings. The following screenshots were taken about 2-3 minutes apart today. Spoiler: Evidence - money/exp/points I did not break a single granite block between those screenshots (only deepslate and some ores), yet the money, exp, and points values changed significantly. I have not been able to recreate this issue with relogging recently. However, /jobs log seems to fluctuate quite a bit during a normal mining session (as seen above). I have a couple theories that will take some time to test; I'll report back if I manage to find something out. I have also noticed that the displayed quantity is definitely broken. The following screenshots were taken before and after breaking a single granite block. Spoiler: Evidence - quantity The action bar and the log both report an increase of $0.89, which makes sense and also matches the changes in my balance. However, the quantity has increased by 4. I then left one of my four mining jobs and broke another block, which increased the quantity by 3. The log's quantity counts the same block multiple times if it's part of multiple quests, but this appears to be inconsistent - granite shows as qty:301 in my screenshots, which means that it doesn't always count four blocks with my four miner jobs.
Update: I have now been able to reproduce this after a mining session. It started randomly after relogging multiple times, but the behavior was quite consistent once it started. I was curious if there was a pattern, so I created a spreadsheet based on the numbers in this video. The main things to note: Not all materials seem to be affected. Granite, deepslate redstone ore, tuff, coal ore, and deepslate diamond ore increased in value; other materials (stone, deepslate, diorite, andesite, lapis ore, and redstone ore) did not. Deepslate redstone ore seems to be the most noticeably affected material. After every relog, the numbers for deepslate redstone usually doubled. Granite appears to experience consistent linear increases ($127.48) per relog instead. Three relogs did not trigger the bug (marked in gray). In two instances, a single relog appears to have triggered the glitch twice because granite increased by twice the normal amount and deepslate redstone quadrupled (i.e. doubled twice). The numbers appear to become inconsistent near the bottom of my table, but that's only because deepslate redstone stops increasing past $21474836.47 (i.e. the 32-bit signed integer limit). The behavior is actually quite consistent. Additional information: I am only using the four mining jobs (plus the wheat job), all other slots are currently used for quests.
I've examined this issue further and filed a bug report with the plugin developer. We await a response from them.
