Minecraft Username: 7amoodw Brief Description: Magic pickaxe L3 not giving 10% chance of double drops Instructions: 1) Gather large sample size of iron ore on /m - mining 3 stacks of ore with an L1 pick grants 2 stacks of blocks - this will be used as base sample. 2) Mine each 3 stacks, expected to get batches of greater than 2 stacks of iron blocks (due to chance of double drop) however the result yields only 2 stacks (Tried this with a very large sample of iron ore , thus 10% chance of double drop should occur at least once) How many times did you recreate this?: Multiple times on /m Result: No double drop chance Expected Result: Chances of double dropping expected especially if using a large sample size Evidence: None except of steps given
Upon further testing, I can confirm that the double drop does work on natural ore but not placed ore. That's probably the issue at hand
Which i think is intended looking at this post https://ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/magic-pickaxe-bug.207928/#post-1106315 I assume that what you're talking about that you don't get the 10% chance on ore you buy or silk first
Pretty sure there was a dupe regarding artificially placed blocks getting the 10% buff. This is intentional.
Also I think this is currently intended, but andrew may be open to changing it if a suggestion is filed, just like when he allowed the magic pick to work on placed ore again for the 6 ingot conversion.
Yeah the reason I filed this was I believe Andrew posted in discord once that changes to placed blocks were reverted. Just not sure if the 10% chance applies in this case
I posted a bug report asking this question. Andrew confirmed it was intended https://ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/l3-pickaxe-question.208164/
