Minecraft Username: Videowiz92 Brief Description: Getting pushed (by player, or water) out of range of a chest while the chest GUI is open will invert the chest animation. The chest will remain open and when accessed by a player will close. Reloading the chunk will reset the initial chest state but once accessed again, will cause the animation to bug out again. Replicating the steps again on the chest in an attempt to perhaps invert the inverted animation will do nothing. The only way to fix this is by breaking the chest completely. I believe this to be a bug with spigot as I tested this in single player and did not get the same results. Also this bug and this bug that claimed to deal with server/client desyncing issues with chests were fixed according to Mojang. Instructions: 1. Place a chest 2. Open the chest GUI 3. Have a player or water source push you out of range of the chest so that your GUI is forced to close. How many times did you recreate this?: Many times Result: Chest animation gets inverted. Expected Result: Chest animation does not get inverted Evidence: Video shows bug replication, reloading chunks, and attempting to fix the bug.
This has happened to me many times, and i believe its just a client side thing, as others around you will see the animation correctly it will just show like that on your side. maybe worth testing with a 3rd party near by to see if it does same.
I have also had a chest stick open if I accidentally opened it while my autoclicker is activated. only way for me to fix it was to break it and re-place it.
Just pushed a workaround into Paper, I've dropped a message about this somewhere but I'm far too dead to create a proper bug report to mojang about this
@Videowiz92 we have been running the latest Paper versions for quite a while now. Has the workaround pushed by @electronicboy fixed your issue?
