    Instructions: Look at durability on rod. Catch 1 fish. Duability is -2.

    How many times did you recreate this bug?: 6 and counting (fishing right now)

    Result: 62/64 -> 60/64

    What does /itemdb say?
    This possibly is due to using a fishing table where you are "fishing" a block. Therefore causing 2 damagepoints

    After a bit of fishing, /itemdb says 58 uses left, while my inventory says 57/64.

    Which one should I trust? Itemdb or my inventory?

    No problem!

    Then that means that this is just due to the fishing table being a block, and then it takes 2 damage values.

    Durability for fishing rods has always functioned in the way you are reporting. While it seems counter-intuitive, it is functioning as intended. If the fishing rod hook hits any blocks besides only water, it will take double durability as "it is not being used as intended." If you hook an entity, it should take triple durability.
