    Suggestion:
Yesterday I talked to WIKIDone about bridge lengths and limits. As it stands, the limit is 32 long and 3 wide. I would like to make it 64 long and 5 wide.
    Reason:
I think 64 blocks long and 5 wide is a reasonable length and width for a bridge and it gives donators of extcreations more wiggle room to work with the donation they payed for. I don't see any issues with changing the current limits. If someone wants to shed light on why the current limit is so short or if it can be changed please do so.

Brides being too long could cause a lot of lag. Cactus farms were removed for this reason.

I haven't seen any complaints about bridge sizes. You could easily make 2 bridges end to end, or 2 bridges side to side.

A good idea...but it doesn't seem needed that badly.

The lag of that bridge wouldn't be that much depending on where the bridge is. At most it could span 5 chunks. In a sense it's like using a lift sign to go up a farm or a house. If you go up the same number of blocks you arguably load more blocks than a bridge.

The lag of that bridge will be the same, regardless of where it is.

And it is not at all like a lift sign. A lift sign is almost the same as a warp sign or doing /spawn or /home. Except that you can only go up and down. When the game loads a chunk, it loads a chunk. Going up and down on that chunk doesn't load it anymore, it's already loaded.

While a bridge is generating a large amount of blocks. Toggling a large bridge on/off/on/off over and over could cause lag. I have to say it's a bit harder to do with smaller bridge.

We are on the same side here. I'm not saying that I'm going to spam the bridge open and closed. I'm just saying that the lag won't be as bad as you're making it out to be if you do the math. And doing /home and /spawn is quite different than a lift sign. It's loading brand new chunks for the player. I'm just looking for an actual staff member to allaborate on the topic.

I'm not saying the lag will be bad at all. I'm just saying that with a serverwide larger bridge population it may just add to the never ending pile of lag.

And no, lift signs do not load new chunks. Never, ever ever ever do they load NEW chunks. A chunk is 16x16xbedrock-block limit.

When you load a chunk, your loading from bedrock to the sky. Going to bedrock, or going to the sky doesn't load any new chunks. It does render new stuff, depending on your render distance, but it doesn't load anything new.

And I'm not badmouthing staff, but some non-staff players do know as much/more then some stuff members. If kuke wasn't a staff member, he'd know a lot more then some of the staff. Just because he has a large knowledge of programming and stuff.

Firstly, you can make 11 blocks wide bridges.

The problem with this is our render distance, we render 3 chunks far, meaning the chunk you stand in and 3 other chunks, this would AT MOST get you 64 blocks of render distance. This means that most bridges that are more than 44 blocks long (counting the distance at which you can right click the sign) may not even toggle because the sign on the other side isn't even loaded.

also, like jason said, it could cause lag.

Yea if its out of the render distance. I've been testing it for the past hour. Neither here no there it apparently can't be done.
