Minecraft Username: LaggyTryHard Brief Description: Block placing is glitched out at times. Depends on log-in i think? Instructions: Go to a wall so that you are looking directly at a block without any space between you and that block. Place a block. How many times did you recreate this?: Issue is encountered randomly depending on the log in/day. If the problem is found when logged in- it will persist for the rest of the day. If the problem is not found when you log in, then you wont encounter it all through your play session. Result: Character is smushed to the ground (similar to the swimming animation) Expected Result: Block should not be placed and player should not be smushed. Evidence: Step 1: Look at the block with no space between. Step 2: Place the block and observe character be pushed to the ground. The effect of this is tremendously annoying when building as it constantly misplaces blocks and forces the player to build at an extreemly slow rate.
I believe one of the staff were having the same issue, can't recall their name though. I'll update if I remember
I frequently have this problem due to high ping since i live far from the server location. The only solution is to move into andrewkms house and play ecc at 1 ping.
I’ve been able to reproduce this on 1.14.4 and 1.15. You need to be facing a block in front of you with no space in between you / the block. Attempting to place a block will push you down and apply the block to where you were standing.
The probability of it happening is totally random from what I’ve noticed- which is why you’ve had trouble recreating the bug. I don’t believe relogging will increase the chance of it happening/ decrease the chance of it going away. From what I’ve experienced, it’s kinda a day - to -day thing. Like one day it would happen and others it wouldn’t. Which is quite frustrating cause there’s no way to give clear instructions on how to recreate it other than “go to a block and place it and hope it shows itself”. From the days of the update, I have not experienced the bug since, but now that others are saying it is still around, I’m assuming I’ll see it soon. I am currently playing on 1.14 client as well. honestly the best way to catch is it for someone to be recording their entire play session until the bug appears
@yokeby52 @1aughter If you experience the bug again, I kinda want you to try these things (I’m unable to come online for a while due to school): 1. disable fly and see if the bug still occurs. 2. Relog with fly disabled, try the bug again. 3. Check your ping and post that along with the server time into this post if it still occurs It’s our best chance at trying to find out when or what is causing it! if multiple people experience it at the same time, then we know it’s not a client side issue- or at least we have reasonable suspicion to not believe it
Alright boys, we figured it out. With the help of Jdawger and Massa, we have learnt the secrets. /v is the problem. When in vanish, the bug appears but when vanish is disabled, everything works just fine. also, be sure to not be flying to maximize the chance of the bug appearing
Able to consistently replicate this issue with the latest instructions regarding vanish. Appears to be related to our vanish plugin as such. @andrewkm
Technically this is a new crawling mechanic introduced in 1.14 but is mainly used by placing a trapdoor on the wall and closing the trapdoor on the player causing them to enter the crawling animation. Before 1.14 this was possible to enter 1x1 tunnels by using water and swimming into the holes but Mojang made it a feature. The /v being responsible for the issue is due to being able to place a block on your current position while vanished.
@UnitedStates2 please get me a video of this bug so the developer can easily see what's going on. I'll be sending off a report as I can constantly reproduce it as well.
