I've always wondered why ban appeals some time takes up to 5 days to be done. Complaints are done within the same day but the difference?
Because it's the user's fault for getting banned. If you don't want to wait, don't get banned. In the wise words of andrewkm: Ban appeals are lowest priority.
Guys, guys, I know this might sound crazy, but you wouldn't have to worry about this kind of shit if you follow the rules.
Just have patience. Some users who are banned simply deserve to wait. I know I have purposefully made someone wait 2 weeks before. It's much more effective than just giving a 2 week tempban, lol.
Proving you have the patience to wait for your appeal to be assessed and completed proves that you are more willing to try and make things work when you return. Those who want their appeals done in a rush aren't really sorry, imo, and are just looking for the fastest way back on so they can play and continue on as they always have. Gone are the days when you can snap your fingers and make a staff member come running, catering to you, especially as a donator. Now it is you who has to prove you are worthy first before you get the attention of the staff. It's better this way for the community as a whole.
No offense to you or anyone who is or gets banned, but im very happy that Andrew has ban appeals set to lowest priority, why should ppl who get banned be given priority? If I was to get banned I would hate the wait but understand its intended purpose.
There are some players that just continually break the rules and cause many problems for staff and the players that have to tolerate and put up with their constant breaking of the rules. I also am thankful that Andrew puts players that follow the rules and have decided to contribute to the community above those that choose not to. This has been said so many times by so many players but worth repeating here - Tired of waiting for a ban appeal to be decided? - Stop breaking the rules (they are really not that hard to follow)
By donating you are contributing to the upkeep of the server (and andrew's pockets hehe), not the community. By being a rule abiding member of the server, helping and having fun with others, you are contributing to the community. Unlike old times, donating doesn't give you more leeway in terms of the rules, and rightly so.
Just because you've donated money to the server doesn't mean you've "contributed" to the community. Sure, you may have helped the server by adding a couple hundred to it's bank account, but the real contributors actually help other players and follow the rules. I've known many contributors to the community who have donated less than that, or even nothing sometimes. If you're interested in contributing to the community, actually help players and follow the rules. Just donating a sum of money won't get you anywhere.
