Section 4 Clause 3 - Inappropriate/Touchy Subjects and Discussions
EcoCityCraft is a server community consisting of many age groups, religious groups, and political backgrounds. As such, there are many touchy subjects that we do not allow in our public channels in order to keep the peace and prevent arguments and flame wars from occurring.
All chat must be kept appropriate and clean at all times. There is to be no discussion of anything deemed inappropriate for a workplace, including, but not limited to, sexuality, excessive violence, alcohol/drugs and inappropriate or dark humour.
This rule extends into subjects about illegal substances or actions, including drugs.
Politics, religion and suicide are common “touchy subjects”, however they are not the only ones. Should a staff member ask you to change a subject they feel is touchy and/or is causing the direction of chat to deviate towards an argument or flame war, you must drop the subject immediately.
Discussing a banned user's ban reason and why they were banned is not allowed, however simply mentioning a banned player's username is allowed.
Accusing other players of breaking any of the Server Rules is not allowed. Use the proper means to address these concerns such as speaking to a staff member or filing a complaint.

The rule I violated (S4C3 - Inappropriate/Touchy Subjects and Discussions) states that it is an offence to continue a discussion which the staff team has requested be dropped. If the discussion is continued despite these requests, as in this case, immediate action will be taken against the perpetrator.

Reason you feel you think you should be un-banned:

To start this apology, I feel it is most necessary for me to say sorry to the group of eight or nine people who witnessed the discussion that I was rightfully banned for. What I wrote in chat was wholly unacceptable for a Minecraft server that caters for younger, impressionable players who should be well protected from the racist hate group I mentioned. I hope for forgiveness from you users but I know I do not expect nor deserve it.

Over the last few days that I have been away from EcoCityCraft I have reflected on the decision I took to ignore staff warnings and continue with this negative discussion. I understand completely that it was immature, disrespectful and outright offensive for me to continue chatting about this racist hate group. I am also very grateful I was banned before I could make any more comments which would have made me look even more of an ignorant fool than I already seem. There is a pure regret within me that I ever partook in this conversation.

Being from the United Kingdom, I did not have a single clue to the horrors and disgusting acts this racist hate group had carried out to their fellow American people. Over here in Great Britain, these racist hate preachers are treated as figures of ridicule and are not taken with any sense of seriousness – this was the impression I had when I made the comments I did. I have now researched this racist hate group whilst I have been away from the server and it has been a much needed eye-opener to a subject that should never have been mentioned in any chat channel, let alone discussed or parodied for a few cheap laughs.

I am writing this appeal to assure the staff team, and the average person of this great server, that I know full well this behaviour from me cannot continue. I am completely and unreservedly sorry for breaking this rule - there is no excuse for what I did and I will not try to make one. I take full responsibility for what was said and I know the best out of anyone reading this appeal that I have made far too many mistakes in the past, and sooner rather than later there will be a far greater punishment. I would not be appealing if I did not enjoy being a part of this community and it is high time I started being one of the many kind experienced players on this server again and not another immature annoyance.
