Rule Violated:

The rule I was banned for is in Section 6 - Unfair Play. Clause 1.

Clause 1 - Hacking and Hacked Clients
Fly, speed, air build, teleport hacking, or any other types of hacks, are not tolerated. This includes x-ray hacking and x-ray texture packs. Using any unfair means (including glitches, bugs, and exploits) to get into server buildings is also not allowed and is unfair to other users.
Using any clients, specifically hacked clients, which may allow you to gain unfair advantages as deemed by ECC staff is strictly prohibited.
Users caught using any client deemed to be a "hacked client", as defined by and at the discretion of the staff, will be banned. There is no excuse for using a hacked client on EcoCityCraft whatsoever.
Discussion of hacked clients is not allowed - we do not allow them, and therefore we do not discuss them.​

Please explain in your own words what the rule(s) means:

The rules meaning is simply that any user may not have any software based 'cheats' that will give advantages over other players, making game play unbalanced, and unfair for other users.​

Reason you feel you think you should be un-banned:

I'm at an interesting point at my career here on ecocitycraft. To describe it I'm going to have to allude to a script I read a couple years ago, the Crucible.

For those that aren't familiar with the play; I'm going to try and summarize it while keeping this relevant. The Crucible is a partial fiction story covering events during the Salem Witch Trials. In the script, a girl named Abigail coerces a few other other girls of her town to go along with the story of accusing various people, many of which she's had quarrels with, of witchcraft. This being before modern law and science, the only two parties that could be considered 'witnesses' were, unfortunately, Abigail's group, and the group Abigail asserted to be practicing witchcraft.

The courts held trials for several people in this book and they were all given a choice given to them by their courtroom judge: Confess to your sins to god and the courtroom, or be convicted (for most this usually involved death). As you can imagine most of them lied, said to be a witch, confessed their 'sins' to god, and then went on with their lives during the time after the play. Those that did not, again, were punished.

I was not hacking.

I was in a skype chat with @bobbysix6 prior to writing this ban appeal. To quote him: "well, if u wanna get unbanned u would have to say u did do it". In response to myself telling him I really wasn't hacking.

I know full well that the easiest way to get unbanned is to copy/rewrite the general concept of just about any other appeal that was similar to your ban reason, making sure you apologized. In my case I suppose I would also apologize to bttp and purple, and tell administration that I've since uninstalled the hacks and wish to rejoin a community that I love.

If there is any way I could be provided with the opportunity to give evidence that I'm not hacking I'd love to talk to whomever, but I feel as though "you hack" is very similar to "you're a witch" because, really, there is no way to prove that one is innocent after being accused. No, I don't have hacked clients in my versions folder. No, I've never searched for hacked clients. But to quote the many Abigails on this server "those can be deleted."





TL;DR;
I do love this server and its community, and would really love to come back. But I'm not going to take the easy route and lie, stating my hacktivities and how sorry I am for doing such an awful, awful thing. I'm going to take the honest route and hope for the best. If that means that staff has to hang me for witchcraft then so be it.​
