I am able to re-create, but so far only with un-named axolotls. Any axolotls I have named with a name-tag are not despawning when I move out of the area or log off. I would suggest naming your axolotls with nametags in the future.
hiya, when i spawned the axototls i was able to be away from the area and log off and they were fine, it was after a few irl days of me having them they just dissapeared
It seems @tescobiscuits mentioned they were indeed named. If this happens again please do let us know, perhaps our server software had some issues with mobs despawning that was recently fixed.
