Fishing is just about the worst way to make money on the server. Even with high exp prices you'll make no more than $2k/hr. Hell, you could make more than that just doing e-repairs.
This is true but just think about it for a second. You could watch a movie on your computer or on the TV and still be making money on the server as long as you keep on repairing your rod or switching to a new one when they break. Just don't be afk.
It could serve you pretty well if you have other stuff going on outside ECC however, for general money making I'd have to agree with RockDassie.
You can trust me when I tell you that I know pretty much all there is to know about fishing on ECC. And although it's true you can do other things while fishing, it's also true that you've *got* to pay attention. If staff checks up on you and you're not watching your screen, you're AFK. It doesn't matter if you're sitting there or not, if staff can't tell if you're there or not they have to consider you to be AFK-fishing--that's their job. So yes, you can watch your movie, but you also need to look at Minecraft frequently enough that you'll be seeing as much of the game as your movie. People get banned for this all the time. It doesn't matter if you're "around", if you"re PMed and don't respond in a reasonable amount of time, you'll find out just how fast AFK-fishing pays.
