Minecraft Username: Obblebobble Reason of Ban: "Scamming Ryan using an alt account" Rule violated: Clause 2 - Scamming Please explain in your own words what the rule(s) means: This means not holding up your end of the deal and in turn manipulating the user to believe you will. Reason you feel you think you should be unbanned: I can see how this could have been misunderstood. I was not personally involved in a scam, however Tobydoo2 (Suspected "alt") did send me $695,000 before logging off. Later being told in person that it was a "gift" as he was quitting, of course I was over-joyed and obviously a little suspicious. It wasn't until the recent issues with his ban (And my own now) that I realized this is scam money. I can assure you that Tobydoo2 is not an alt account, but it definitely seems so, I'd be very happy to return the full amount back to RyanJayOlson (Or similar username as the ban reason states "RyanJalOlson"). I have never scammed in my life, and would prefer this not to be on my ban record. Assuming Ryan is online when I am unbanned I should be able to return the money within a few hours at most. I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, but once again I did not scam personally but was unintentionally involved at the end. Thankyou for reading this
I don't believe that this wasn't an alt account - Absolutely everything is pointing towards this being an alt account. Firstly, the first few actions that tobydoo2 took on the server were very unusual for a brand new player. To do those commands isn't what you would normally expect from a brand new user to the server. 2015-02-04 17:43:57 tobydoo2 logged in with entity id 41533319 at ([rising] 9.5, 177.0, 2.5) 2015-02-04 17:44:56 tobydoo2 issued server command: /bal 2015-02-04 17:44:57 tobydoo2 issued server command: /home 2015-02-04 17:46:26 tobydoo2 issued server command: /ch g 2015-02-04 17:46:27 [G] [Builder] tobydoo2: Hi guys 2015-02-04 17:50:07 tobydoo2 issued server command: /ch tr 2015-02-04 17:50:11 tobydoo2 issued server command: /tpa obble 2015-02-04 17:50:11 ßctobydoo2 ß4was denied access to command. 2015-02-04 17:50:20 tobydoo2 issued server command: /tpaccept 2015-02-04 17:50:42 tobydoo2 issued server command: /ch l Secondly, the only actions which tobydoo2 took were trying to rent a star tool, and then the scam which led to the account's ban selling a star tool. If this was a genuine player and not an alt there would be other interactions, other things such as mining/farming/chatting etc. To only be trying to rent/sell star tools for a brand new account is always a very strong indication of an alt account for the purpose of scamming. Thirdly, with regards to the RyanJayOlsen complaint/scam: 2015-02-14 23:33:37 RyanJayOlson issued server command: /pay tobydoo2 695000 2015-02-14 23:33:46 tobydoo2 issued server command: /pay obblebobble 696000 Look at the time difference. 9 seconds between receiving the money and paying to obblebobble. That isn't a 'quitting gift' - that is a planned scam. Not to mention that a player who has often been on the server for a minimal number of minutes/hours doesn't 'quit' like that. Finally, 7 minutes after those money transfers above, you pm'ed oreo to inform him of the shared IP. You are an old member of ECC and know that you need to inform Staff of IP matches before a player gets banned, otherwise risk a ban for bypassing a ban. I think that you followed through with scam, transferred the money to your main account and then thought you would inform a staff member of the shared IPs before a complaint could be filed and the alt banned. There is overwhelming evidence of this being a case of scamming using an alt account. Appeal Denied.
