User Name: Akourns Reason: "Banned for Griefing in Maverick" Argument: I am unsure as to why I am banned. At first I had no idea why it would be, I have had nearly no interaction with anyone, I play with a buddy of mine on your server and spend most of my time mining and building alone far away from many folks. That said after racking my brain as to why I would/could be banned I do believe I have come up with what may have resulted in this outcome. I know the town I was building had been basically closed and is in the process of being restructured, in speaking with the co-mayor this information was revealed to me. With that understanding I entered a building and was curious to see if I could alter items in that area. I picked up a few items and then realized that this was actually someones building who had not quit, I msg'd the individual and I believe I replaced all of the items I had disturbed, that being said they were not in the same place and I was unable to replace a sponge I had picked up. When I msg'd the individual I received no response so there was no way for me to let them know of my "transgressions". I have no problem replacing any items I may have disturbed; I know one of the items was a diamond block and I am 100% certain that was replaced, with that being said my intent was not to steal items, as I would have run off with diamond blocks and such had that been the case. I am quite new to the game, I bought it after playing it on Xbox 360 and wanting to be able to share items and buildings with friends. I enjoy the server, I have been building a neat building and mining and was looking forward to checking out pvp and such as I had just become a resident. I hope that I will be able to do so, if there is something I can do to expedite this process please let me know. If the reasoning behind my ban was some other it would be greatly appreciated if that information was provided so that I would be able to present a counter-argument. Evidence: I have no evidence as I did not know what I was doing would result in an issue. I have been playing games online for nearly 15 years reaching back to EverQuest beta, I appreciate an online community and want to contribute to it. Thanks for putting effort into your appeal You were banned for grief, as you supposed, and a supermod will be with you shortly to decide yoour fate. in the meantime, make sure to reread our Server Rules so you know for next time, and I hope I never see an appeal from you again.
Thanks for the quick response. I am currently reviewing the rules, they make complete sense. I have a strong understanding of them (as they are all derived from common sense) and this issue will not happen again. Thanks, Akourns
Wow that's cool. Me too. And a wonderful sounding ban appeal. There's just one hole in it. You destroyed half of a floor of blocks that included diamond ore, gold ore, iron blocks, lapis blocks. There is no mistake as to why you were there and what you were doing. So don't try to mask it with pretty words and maturity. You griefed, and griefed hard. However, with this being your first offense I'll simply unban you this time. If you grief a town again expect a much longer ban.
