Hi all. So I have to say I'm a bit upset by how much it costs to use an anvil. Placing an anvil requires the purchase of ExtCommands ($30) and ExtCommands Plus ($70). That comes to a total of $100 to use at your discretion, this item which requires ore resources and tools for a repair or enchanted books or tools to combine enchantments - not to mention additional EXP charges. If I donated my way to the use of an anvil, I suspect I would go through two of them to get max-power armor and tools and since I also got /repair with my anvil... I would no longer need the anvil unless my items were destroyed suddenly. The cost of using an anvil, IMO does not negate the benefits of the OP /repair commands, also featured in ExtCommands/Plus. I don't think that reduced prices for anvil perms would effect the frequency of donations otherwise. The way I see it, permissions to use an anvil should cost more in the range of what it costs to place water or light fire. I hope staff reads this and considers setting the anvil apart from very expensive packages and allow more people to use this wonderful tool. Thanks, James4747
I don't think this will ever happen. There are many people who have bought Ext Commands+, and if anvil placement changes, people who have bought ext commands+ will be upset since that's not what they paid for.
the reason it is like this is because anvils allow repair of enchanted items without the donation, if they were not limited to the donation. it will not change.
As a suggestion - perhaps anvil perms could remain included in ext commands +, but also be included in a separate, less-expensive package? I would like to be able to use just the anvil and not have to pay so much.
Being able to sell an e-repair is an interesting characteristic of the economy. A good one, IMO and I do not see this economic component being negated by the occurrence of higher numbers of personal anvils. For instance: an e-repair can be used infinitely on one tool and does not cost EXP. This is the opposite of repairing via anvil. I think there is a big enough functional difference there for e-repairs to continue to have a presence in the economy.
In addition, Anvil combinations are a perk of ExtCommands+. many people most likely purchased this donation for that exact purpose. giving it to everyone will cause mass rage.
I think mass rage is a hyperbolic prediction in this case. However, I admit I would be upset if I found out I ultimately spent more than I had to. Still, I do not see this effect as serious enough to include as an argument against cheaper anvil perms.
Solution to your problem: stop being so cheap and just spend the $100.... If this were to happen I would think that almost all of ECCS top donators would quit rendering the server unfounded and the eventual closing of her server...
Can you explain why you think cheaper anvil perms will have this effect? Are you attempting to respond to the issue of e-repair as a commodity?
Proposing solutions to bypass the issue is not the point of this thread. Lets please keep to the content of the issue.
I was giving you a suggestion on what you can do to achieve the goal. Anyway, on the topic of anvils, they should stay the same
You misunderstand my goal - I'm proposing a price decrease. I do appreciate your comments on how to work with the current price, but that's not the issue here.
Make anvils cheaper and more people will get it, more people with anvil will ultimately strain the renaming/combining market.
Its more than that, the problem with making anvil combos a single feature is basically saying: all people who bought extcommandsplus(me), you have just payed 100 dollars for e-repairs, thats it, and on top of that, people who buy anvil for less have the ability to REPAIR enchanted tools through the use of exp, which isn't hard to come by. I can't believe you don't understand this yet, like honestly. Please understand that it would have a huge effect on both players and the economy, and the effect is totally negative. I don't know if you are just not reading the comments or what but as rabidworm said: In addition, Anvil combinations are a perk of ExtCommands+. Many people most likely purchased this donation for that exact purpose. Giving it to everyone will cause mass rage. It is plain black and white.
That is written above. No need to get nasty. So, we have a difference of opinion on the economic effect my proposition will have. I'm fine with that. I appreciate your response, and all of the opinions of those who responded. Staff members have viewed the thread and I recommend we leave it up to them now to make a decision. Unless there is an unspoken-on component of this issue yet to be raised, to prevent a flame war - lets limit further posts to something simple like "in favor" or "not in favor" Thanks, James4747
I just want to explain another thing to you quickly, its a bit off the topic but important that you know. It seems you haven't been on ECC that long and don't know the server all that well, so I'll just quickly point out that the staff team have as much of a say as any other player on the server, they don't decide anything having to do with donation features, Andrewkm(server owner) is the only person able to make the decision to implement this. I hope that clears a few things up for you and is able to give you a better understanding of how donations work on the server, also if I were you, I would go and read the Ecc wiki : http://ecocitycraft.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page Its a huge help to all players, new and old alike. So read that whole thing over and come back. I think that would also give you a different perspective on the whole matter.
No, I saved for months for the 500k I used to purchase Extracommands+. It is an amazing feature and should stay where it is, Only achievable by people who work hard or Irl donators who are willing to spend that kind of money.
U shouldn't post a price suggestion if you are not open to the people who disagree with you, which is just about everyone. On a side note the staff have no effect on the prices of items of donation features........ That can only be decided by Andrewkms him self. This is very badly thought out and I would suggest having a mod lock it because your just embarrassing yourself.
