    Brief Description:
I was doing a feature job for another user and I realized this. I was naming six fish for this user with /anvil. They wanted it color coded in light blue so I typed it as you usually do "(&b)Friend Fish" and when I went to pull all six fish out of the anvil after finishing the name/codes. It didn't allow it and put the fish back to "Fish" and not color coded, just as though I didn't do anything to them.

    Instructions:

    • Put the item in the anvil slot.
    • Do what you need too name/code it.
    • Attempt to pull the item out.

How many times did you recreate this bug?:
I recreated this around two times. The first time was explained as it was above and the second time I tested it while in process of writing this report on this bug. Screenshots will be provided below.

    Result:
It disallowed the naming of the items and unnamed and didn't color code it as I requested. Mainly leaving the item untouched as seeming like I didn't attempt to rename it or code it.

    Expected Result:

It should rename and code the item as the user requests in the /Anvil Command.

    Evidence:
[Items in the position of being color coded and renamed]

[Items after I attempted to continue with the process of naming/coding them]

Additional Information: Just something I came across when I was doing a job for another user. I know I've seen this in the past but not sure if it was fixed or not. Thanks for reading. :)

    Hey there @purplelegoender!

Just want to let you know that this is a bug in the current version of Minecraft (1.11.2) and has been fixed in the development version 1.12pre-1 (1.12 pre-release 1). That being said, there's not much we can do in terms of providing a quick fix, due to the bug being present within the game and not just on ECC.

    More info here:
    https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-111699

    Thanks for understanding :)

I was just doing another job, and I tried to name a cake with /Anvil, when I attempted to type in the name or anything, it would take the cake out of the slot and hold it like I never put it in the slot. It worked naming on an actual Anvil but it was different. The "Cost's 1 EXP Level" was in a dark highlight but it worked. Is that normal for this bug in 1.11.2 as well?
