Minecraft Username: LordNate Brief Description: Sometimes when I put items in an anvil to combine them it closes the GUI and says 'That movement method is blocked. Please click and add'. I'm aware that is supposed to happen when you shift click, but sometimes it happens when I don't shift click. Also when this happens when I don't shift click the item stays 'picked up' (on my mouse) when I open my inventory, which is more evidence that this isn't supposed to happen. Instructions: 1. Open an anvil 2. Put an item in one of the combination slots in the anvil 3. If the bug doesn't take place, place an item in the other combination slot in the anvil How many times did you recreate this bug?: 7 out of 10 times (it appears random, sometimes it happens 9/10 times and sometimes it doesn't happen at all) Result: When the bug took place, it closed the anvil GUI and said 'That movement method is blocked. Please click and add'. When I re-opened my inventory or the anvil, the item I tried to place when the bug took place was still on my mouse instead of in my inventory. Expected Result: The same as what actually happened. Additional information: I use vanilla 1.8, so I don't see how this could be a client-side issue. However no one else I've asked has experienced this bug or been able to re-create it. The bug also only appears to happen when placing an item in the second combination slot. The tools I tested this with were 2 un-owned identical fully repaired diamond efficiency IV unbreaking III pickaxes, but this has happened with lots of different books and tools and enchantments before. Also if anyone else has experienced this bug please post your experience with it as this may help determine if this is a server issue or a client issue.
Most methods are blocked, but normal "click - move mouse - click" is not supposed to cause errors - although I have seen multiple problems with it, nonetheless. About the second slot - do the items contain any kind of lore, e.g. a tool ID that no longer has an owner assigned? To my knowledge, this is just a client-sided issue caused by improper client-server synchronisation. I have seen this bug many times with a very high ping, but I am not yet sure how it could be caused, exactly.
It happens when you accidentally drag your mouse button over the slot. You have to click without moving your mouse, and your click has to be instant. It can get really annoying when you have a habit to drag slightly, or when your mouse is really sensitive. (like mine)
Oh. That might be the case here... I have never experienced that before, but I blame a mouse sensitivity of 20%.
