    Here is a list of the players Altabyte has scammed recently; with the oldest on top, and the newer reports at the bottom.

    @halospy
    @dumdum71
    @matrix_rep
    @JrHockey17
    @oxwood2
    @CrazySwagMaster1
    @StoneIronZ
    @oRON647

    I didn't look into each case individually, but most of us have gotten the generic response:

    "Thanks for reporting,

    This will be noted in-case the user ever appeals in the future.

    Locked - Ban reason updated"

    I think it would be nice to maybe get a little compensation for our collective losses; in the very least, the money we paid him, but it would be more fitting if we also received the interest he promised us as well.
    Since it looks like that's not going to to happen on its own, I suggest we take matters into our own hands.
    I lost quite a bit of money, and I don't want "if the user ever appeals", I believe we should have immediate payment, to be deducted from Altabyte's balance "if he ever appeals".

    What if he never appeals? Facing such an enormous debt, I'm not sure if I would appeal either. We can therefore assume that he is never going to appeal. This player has intentionally amassed so much debt that it is obvious that he no longer plans to play on this server. I love playing on ECC, but I just don't understand how a server that claims to be "serious about stability of the markets and money" and has "mastered economic stability, and [keeps] an incredibly steady amount of currency in game at all times" could let a single player just disappear with several hundred thousand dollars of money stolen from honest, hardworking players.

    It's time for all of us to work together and put some pressure on the people in charge. If they see that all of us are united for this cause, with sound evidence, and just reasoning, then we stand a better chance of having our own money returned to us.

    Thank you for reading this.
    I think it would be a good idea to find out how much Altabyte stole from each of us, as the total sum will be evidence against his eventual return and will result in a quicker return of what is rightfully ours.

    Total Stolen: $200,000
    Total Owed: $275,000

    Ideally, this is how you would list your losses if you are one of the ones who have been scammed:

    "He asked for $100,000 and promised to pay me back $135,000.
    He has paid back $0"

    If you do, I will add it to the Totals at the end of the post.
    Be sure to post both how much you paid him and how much he promised to repay you, as well as how much he has repaid, if any.

    Good point @Naereniv11 , he might have another account or is planning to change his username; having first put his money in a trade sign...

    Staff can track trade signs, and all transactions. So if he does plan to do this, he will be caught out.

    Also, What is the point in this thread? Im curious.

    he seemed like a heavy lotto player. I bet he lost everything in lotto. This is one of the main reasons your money will never be returned. In order to do so, andrew would have to generate money out of thin air, inflating the economy (and taking up his time). The money Altabyte borrowed is out there in the economy in other lotto player's balances, we can't just duplicate it.

    This is a lesson to be careful who you loan money to. Many times in the past, people have taken a lot of loans in order to play lotto. This is almost guaranteed to end in disaster and you should avoid this situation.

    I wouldn't be worried about this. When you file a complaint, staff track the scam values that a felon has been racking up so that when the offender wishes to appeal, he/she will have to answer for it all.

    As for compensation, staff can only encourage the offender to pay off his/her debts. Staff can not reimburse you. Otherwise, that in and of itself could be a scam.

    The point is very clear. he is asking for the money to be returned to the victims. but it shouldn't be.

    You have a valid point. It would cause inflation if we were all given our money back at once.

    However, when the Mining World and the Nether are reset, it add a massive amount of new raw material to the economy. As players mine, kill mobs, or sell spawners, that raw material is converted into money. So basically, its like hooking the market up to an IV and slowly dripping money into the system.

    Since it is evident now that large amounts of money can be added to the economy without unbalancing it if they are added slowly, why couldn't we get our money back the same way? Perhaps a weekly or even monthly payment plan could do the trick without any danger to the stability of the ECC market.

    I know altabyte i skyped him quite abit i know he did not scam with intent to the loans just caught up with him like i figured they would and tans he did not lose it all in lotto instead he bought things like ereps and pres instead of paying off loans which was a really bad choice imo.

    He will prolly appeal just be patient staff wont refund you no matter what
    My friend was scammed out of an eff7 by a permabanned user who has no
    Chance to appeal so he will never be paid back thats why it is very important
    to be smart about who you buy from or loan to.

    Another option would be to give us a discount on our next rank application based on how much money we lost. That way no new money would enter the economy at all.

    You should always decide for yourself if a person is trustworthy. Don't listen only to what other people say. Do a little investigation on the forums. Check out if they have had complaints or bans in the past, what went on. You could follow up with the people invovled in the complaints. Did they get paid back? How long did it take?

    It's also a good idea to constantly browse the complaints section, and to pay attention to the forums, and in-game activity just to keep in touch with what is going on around EcoCityCraft, how people are doing, and what kinds of things people are prone to. That way when you do decide to engage in some type of business, you have ideas of people in mind that you've been paying attention to for awhile.

    That in a way is still putting money in the economy, because you save money. You don't need to spend it.

    If you made the choice to do a loan to someone, or w/e business you agreed to, you alone agree to the risk. You have to be prepared if things go south. That is what responsibility is. EcoCityCraft did not agree to the risk. EcoCityCraft did not make you or anyone engage in a business deal that could be prone to loss. EcoCityCraft can not insure you for the decisions you make, and the losses you may sustain.

    So your saying people arent scammed in the real world either?
    What you want to use your money for is totally up to you but you used it to lend it to someone that could well scam you.
    Surely that is the lessons learnt for all you guys?

    Dont give someone a loan especially if they already have loans and contracts existing.

    If i was going to give someone a loan (even though id rather throw my money away as chances are your getting scammed) i certainly wouldnt give it to someone who already has multiple loans to repay, i feel bad for your guys but its a little naive to go and give someone more money when he already owes multiple people money.
    Seems dumb without sounding harsh...

    You are right.
    I assumed that a player with [$$$$] would not be likely to scam me since so much of their real money was spent on the server.
