@andrewkm, Rule state this regarding alterante accounts currently: If you have another account you wish to play on, and make money with it, it cannot be used to fund other accounts. Minor things such as paying an alt account for a rank upgrade through your main account is allowed. Paying for anything on your main account with money from an alt account however is NOT allowed. What exactly defines a "main account" and an "alternate account" - For example, the main generally has a higher rank, but in @matrix_rep's case, his alt is a higher rank than his main, so matrix_rep could argue that @M8rix_rep is his "main" even though @matrix_rep is truly his main account. The rules should clarify what an "alternate account" is and what a "main account" is. Also, what defines "minor things"? What amount is "minor"? @xX3PICREBELXx
I'm going to assume main account is your most played account, highest rank, highest assets and generally first account to be on the forums. In this case, at any stage your main account would be UnitedStates2 unless you lost access to your account. If you get an alt up to the same standard as your main I think that's where the line becomes blurred. Just my thoughts

@andrewkm Firstly, you still don't define what "minor things" are. Can I send my 100k for lotto and claim it's "minor"? When not saying what's "minor" or not for rules regarding finance, you're just opening the doors to players abusing these rules to make unfair financial gains - That isn't the best way to go. .-. Secondly, these two rules are contradictory: Direct or indirect transactions (via /pay, trade signs, etc) are not allowed if they are financially benefiting your alt account. and Minor things such as paying an alt account for a rank upgrade through your main account is allowed. You're still financially benefiting your alt whether the transaction is "minor" or buying a rank - You're giving them money and saving them time as they won't have to work for the money themselves. This rule is quite unclear and contradictory.
I'm also confused. You say we can pay them to rank up yet we can't benefit from it. I find it beneficial to have another account rank up by giving them money... Also we can not use any of the things they get such as towns yet we can pay to get the towns and control the towns on the other account. The last and current rule intersect and I personally don't see a concrete barrier between minor and major transactions.
You guys just changed the rules to make giving Alts money legal. You cannot give that response acting like it has been a rule for ever.
I would suppose that maybe ranking up your alt is allowed because it's not really affecting the economy other than to move that amount spent out ? But I think that it is really worth rethinking that ranking up your alt is allowed when you can't even be in the same town. Whether ranking up your alt is minor or not, there's no question that it is lot less minor than simply being your alts neighbor or that the meager advantage of a free plot is somehow major.
