Recently I've seen people using the same nicknames, or just switching nicknames a lot. either way, it's annoying, I can't tell who is talking and who I'm talking to, and I keep confusing people because they change their nicks. So I want a command that allows me to toggle nicknames. Anyone who uses the command would see everyone's usernames instead of their nicknames.
+1, nicknames are a hassle and have been even more so lately. However if this is implemented I see everyone just toggling it off and suddenly a cosmetic donation feature may sort of become worth less because no one is seeing your sweet (annoying) nicks?
Most people won't toggle it. Most people probably won't even know it exists. I don't think that'll be a problem.
I'm not sure how feasible it would be to develop for such a large server (@kukelekuuk00 I assume you know more on this matter than I do), but I certainly share your concern and annoyance with this. +1
If you're not counting the network (since nicknames are separate per server, at least, as it is now.), then it should be done with considerable ease.
I think just a /rn for any name should be allowed, because with /v people it's hard to know who they are
Nicknames absolutely annoy the shit out of me too, but I'm not sure I want this. I'll come back to this suggestion sometime in the future.
Make it so you can only nickname your actual name. If people want to make their name something funny or something irreverent to names they can use a tag.
That completely defeats the point of Nickname, though. The Plus package allows colors and formatting, and the base only allows you to change your name.
