I just tested this, I am earning both minecraft exp and mcmmo exp from breaking ores in the mining world(deepslate and regular). I am not earning minecraft exp, but I am earning mcmmo exp from breaking ores in the Rising world (deepslate and regular). Iron and Gold have never dropped exp and continue to not drop exp in Minecraft. Player placed ores will not generate mcmmo exp, and this is intended. This is exactly as it should be. If you do find any issues with how this is working, I'd suggest a bug report. Marking accepted because its actually a thing already besides the conditions listed above.
