In Game Name: CP3fan1What part of EcoCityCraft is this suggestion for: All Main ServersShort title for your suggestion: Market Change AnnouncementsWhat are you suggesting: I suggest there be an announcement of market changes at least 24 hours before they occur. It serves to hurt nobody except shop owners to have surprise nerfs overnight and wake up to see thousands of items bought at a losing price. That isn't part of the game, it's just punishment for trying to run a shop. Why is this a good addition for EcoCityCraft?: I think it serves nobody to have surprise nerfs or buffs. When has a surprise market change ever helped anyone? What do you have to lose by announcing them?Other information: Plugin or custom addition: One suggestion per form: I Understand.
+1 i would like to know when prices are increasing in advanced so i can stockpile everything in the 24 hours and then sell again once prices are actually raised. /s EDIT: Serious note, I run shops, and have been burned by price nerfs before. I have however taken precautions to minimise these losses, by either storing the majority of my balance in forums, or by filling chests with "stone" as to limit the amount that is sold to me.
lolwat It's almost like adapting to economic changes is an interesting part of a competitive economy and helps drive the economy, and helps prevent abusing changes?
If you consider changing your prices to avoid getting burned by price drops abuse, then yeah?... Not following the logic here lol
+1 I get it the economy changes in real life too, but it would be nice to not stockpile hours worth of an item and then have it nerfed the next day Feels bad man
Instead how about just a “price changes will occur in x hours” and don’t specify what is changing. That way, if people want to prepare for it they can by just closing their shop for the day. But it also keeps anyone from stockpiling to abuse it
Makes sense. I mean that might be an option too. I was thinking maybe only announce price drops, not buffs. Buffs are what people would stockpile on. But yeah if there's some reason to keep it more vague, a simply announcement of changes incoming would be better than the current system.
Ok? The justification being that nobody knows about global market fluctuation doesn't necessarily apply to a situation where the "fluctuation" is completely artificial and planned. That is to say, you can't just justify random planned price drops/increases by comparing it to an economy that is not controlled or stimulated by a single actor. This is entirely different.
Fair, but it wouldn't be at a loss to shop owners because prices wouldn't change until the drop. You could sell at a profit right up until the change occurred. Unloading to avoid a loss in income is not abusive or wrong imo. Hoarding and using insider information to gain an upperhand is.
We are sorry you are not satisfied with our price updating structure. As with real life however, warnings are not sent out globally to every citizen every time milk goes up or down a bit. If only we all knew, wouldn’t we be rich investors lol. Nothing will change.
