In Game Name: a18greek18What part of EcoCityCraft is this suggestion for: All Main ServersShort title for your suggestion: Make Nether a better source of incomeWhat are you suggesting: Increase the server Gold price, as follows: Gold Nugget: $0.50 -> $2.00 Gold Ingot: $4.50 -> $18.00 Gold Block: $40.50 -> $162.00Why is this a good addition for EcoCityCraft?: Adds some diversity to the ways in which we can make money. Nether mining requires a fair bit of work and attention, but would be more worth it after these changes. This also won't drastically affect the profit made from regular mining since gold is a fairly rare resource in the mining world and accounts for <5% of income via regular mining methods. As of right now, taking server/low end market prices as a baseline... Quartz sells for ~$30 per block Gold sells for ~$40 per block In terms of ores (assuming fortune 3 pick)... Nether Gold: ~1 Gold Ingot per ore -> Equivalent value of $4.50 per ore Quartz: ~2.5 Quartz per ore -> Equivalent value of $18.75 per ore Having just done some testing in terms of recovery of these ores with the fly/speed feature, within 20 mins I was able to collect: Nether Gold Ore: 278 -> Equivalent value of $1251 Quartz Ore: 1056 -> Equivalent value of $19,800 Extrapolating that out to an hour gives a current profit of ~$63,000 for one of the most mentally/physically involved forms of making money, which also assumes the player doesn't silk these ores to bring into mining world for xp and that the mining world is still full of ores (i.e. early after world reset).Other information: Just throwing this idea out there to get some further opinions.Plugin or custom addition: Price ChangeOne suggestion per form: I Understand.
To be honest, I don't think gold needs a buff. Mining for gold in nether has increased due to the update but that increase in quantity per world doesn't mean we up the prices too. Demand seems to remain the same for gold since it's not a new block. I was able to collect about 4 stacks of gold blocks alone from the newly generated structures in one server's nether, and that was without mining any ores. One thing from this suggestion though is we should see an increase in crying obsidian. Perhaps increase crying obsidian prices to $40 (from it's current $2.50 value) since they are a pretty scarce material per world generation (after all the piglins have been butchered, that is.) Maybe we could even see piglins get added to spawner keys and farm them to barter for more crying obsidian. Might actually go suggest this now
I agree. prices of crying obsidian should definitely increase due to its high demand and scarcity. I was buying this for 2-4k per blocks since the update came out and on all three servers I only gathered 13 stacks. obviously some people probably held on to some, but even after searching rising and mining for an hour I only found around 30 blocks of it total. I say increasing the price would be a good idea. definitely worth more than $2.5 imo
We currently have a "wait and see attitude" as far as pricing for these things go. We'll revisit those in the near future when we can see how players react to various price signals more fully.
