In Game Name: moosagiWhat part of EcoCityCraft is this suggestion for: All Main ServersShort title for your suggestion: Item of the MonthWhat are you suggesting: Every month, when the mining world resets, one item (from a list, perhaps, chosen by everyone,.. who can suggest an item... or whatever) is simply removed from the mining world and replaced by something else. For example if the item of the month is gold, then all the gold on the server could be replaced randomly by copper, iron, coal, etc...Why is this a good addition for EcoCityCraft?: This genius idea would keep the player run economy vibrant and exciting and add an element of mystery and adventure. Let's say one month iron goes out and is replaced by copper, gold, or whatever. Then there's a run on iron and people who have invested in iron can make some small profit because everyone needs to visit player run shops. Then when the next reset comes everyone runs out and gets iron and everyone has so much fun doing this! Imagine if the item of the month was, say, sand. All the sand in mining became red sand or clay. Everyone would start going crazy. The economy would get so pumped.. Or imagine if blue dye, or etc. couldn't be manufactured for a month. This will help clear out old inventory, keep the market exciting, bring more value and worth to player shops instead of having some shops sit idly and never have customers, etc.Other information: Imagine if for one month you couldn't produce glass. Sand to glass didn't work. Just for a month. So instead of just going to mine sand like its nothing and sand you cant even sell it to the server there's no point (I.E. currently people mine sand ONLY when they need it and its not viable to run a sand shop) now people would HAVE TO buy it from other players. I think that is the bees knees.Plugin or custom addition: One suggestion per form: I Understand.
Edit: Idea: The items could be chosen from the magic items list. I.E. suddenly, a magic spruce cube could be worth millions THOUSANDS! That would make things interesting
I honestly see this as more annoying than useful. Let's say I need gold for a build, but for a straight month gold is replaced with copper. Suddenly, I can't use any gold for my build for a month since I can't farm any and I need to do something else or not play ECC for a month
If you can't farm any why not buy some from player shops? It would be easier/faster than farming it yourself. Anyways perhaps your right, this is not the best idea in the world I guess. Another way to do this would be to increase the scarcity of such an item. The mining world is huge. Would anyone really notice if 80% of the coal was replaced with stone for one wipe? But it could have ramifications on the economy and interesting dynamics for player shops.
I see where you are coming from, but at the same time, player shops will eventually run out too. It's not a bad idea overall, but ramifications of it would bottleneck resources
We’re not adding tons of hours to our world generating process just to custom draw / world edit one block and swap it out for another every month. I do not see this serving any useful purpose on ECC, sorry.
