We need more feedback for this - The sweeping edge enchant only damages mobs according to the wiki, making it rather useless.
Looting has an actual effect on mobs. However, I am not sure whether the star sword is already powerful enough to kill all mobs with one hit. If it does, adding another mob damage enchantment is a little pointless.
Its a star sword, it should be op for its price. sweeping edge damages mobs around the one you hit. I think it would only be reasonable to add it.
It’s just an enchantment that’s been overlooked with all the other “stuff” that comes with updates. The fact it has this or that affect is not the issue. *cough* star shield does nothing *cough* I don’t think it’s a question that needs answered “yes” or “no”... but question when can SAs and staff take the time to update the star sword and axe for those that want to trade them in... I don’t even see the debate for new ones purchased/opened... *cough star shield cough* Edit: @Imabankthing elytra enchantments do stuff like feather falling and depth strider *cough* shield=iron coughhh*
In fairness Jamie was against the idea of a star shield too ("Sorry, but this is useless due to no enchants impacting it."). I originally suggested that 6 months+ before the new suggestion that got accepted. I think it only got accepted this second time around because Andrew wanted more low tier "Star" items to pad the numbers.
Sweeping Edge added to Star Sword: You cannot exchange your old Star Sword prior to this change for a new one. Sorry.
