From what I have read, and what multiple mods have said, abuse of donated features for the sole reason to grief is against the rules. The /near command is part of the extcommands donation. I feel that using the /near command to find players to destroy the things they have built around them is an abuse of this command. I have seen many players use this command many times for griefing. Please shed some light on this. Thanks.
/near is being used to track down and destroy spawners, I've never heard of anyone using it to grief things.
Yes, however destroying spawners and the the structure(s) around it that someone is using is a form of griefing, therefore, players are using /near command to grief. How is this not a form of griefing?
It is considered griefing wherever you are, it does not matter what world you are in. While griefing is allowed in the mining world, abusing a donated feature in order to grief is not allowed (at least this is what I have been told by mods).
The reason you cant LWC anything in the mining world is because everything in the mining world is meant to be mined/broken. Also, using /near to locate someone doesn't qualify as abusing a donation feature, /near is meant to be used to FIND people.
Using the /near command to find someone and using it to find someone for the sole reason to grief them are two completely different things.
Ah the hypocrisy. Gotta love it. Thus making it legal to destroy everything the person has built around the spawner as well. Including blocks that would cause water/mobs to come in and kill the player?
I am just trying to understand the rules, as it seems there are various stipulations to many of the rules that aren't actually listed anywhere.
This practice was explicitly endorsed as a means for players to manipulate the exp market, I fail to see the hypocracy in this, when this is simply an exception to the rule. As for the killing the player thing, if the mobs kill you when you are afk at your spawner, that is simply your own fault. If you don't want to be in danger, DO NOT AFK at spawners. Of course, placing water/lava/gravel/etc to kill you is still illegal.
I'm talking about breaking blocks to allow water to flow into where a player is. Also, the hypocracy is with two things. 1.) Not to abuse donation features to grief, and 2.) Not to spam commands. These are against the rules, yet are okay when doing this and that. While I do not own the server, nor do I make the rules, I still think the rules should be updated as exceptions are put into place. When I have a question about rules/actions of players, I go to the rules first. When I find that a particular action (according to the rules) is not allowed, and I do not see an exception for it, I must go to the forums.
1) Griefing is allowed in the mining world, smart one. That's also not abusing the feature, as they're using it to do something completely legal. 2) Who said they were spamming commands? If they were, they'd be auto-kicked by the server What is so hard to understand?
Nice job there...If you would have read the entire thread, you would see that I have already mentioned that griefing in the mining world is allowed, and that griefing with donation features is not allowed. Spamming commands will not always get you auto-kicked. Secondly, you can't keep adjusting your direction if you aren't spamming the /near command. When there is a rule list, it should be comprised of ALL the rules.
1) Griefing in ANY FORM besides in Aether/Towns is COMPLETELY ALLOWED. What. is. so. hard. to. get. about. that! That means with a feature, without a feature, etc. It does NOT matter. 2) Spam will ALWAYS get you auto-kicked if you actually ARE spamming. Spam isn't just 1 command/message, then that same one 1-2 minutes later. It's one, then right away its another. And another. And another. If its 10 seconds in between commands, it's not spam AT ALL. And I did read the entire thread. It is YOU who has no clue what they're saying in the slightest.
Actually, no. You are completely wrong. Griefing with donation features is not allowed. You may want to read the rules again, or have someone read them to you. There are several clauses that state this. One of which is below: Clause 2: Water and Pyro Donators who have the water and pyro features are not allowed to grief with those items under any circumstances. This includes attempts to kill people with these perks in non-PvP areas. If caught you will immediately have those features removed from you and will face punishment on our server. This can include a rollback of your actions and a possible ban.
LOLOLOLOLOL Thats because it can kill people in a NON-PVP area. That has nothing to do with breaking a few blocks to get to someone's spawner. Come back when you have an intelligent point to make, thanks.
Sigh, your comments and lack of rule logic do not add anything to this thread. Please do me and everyone else a favor and discontinue posting to this thread. Thank you.
Note that this rule is for water and pyro, not ext commands. Like it says in the title of the rule. Your last statement is ironic.
Yes, I realize that the Clause I listed was for Water/Pyro. I was just listing one of the Clauses that stated you cannot grief with a donated feature because chocolatecheese had stated that that you could grief with any feature you have. The whole reason I brought this up was because Andrewkm had posted before to not grief/abuse donation features.
