Minecraft Name: Stormogeddin Suggestion: To add a practical use for nations, at the moment they are useless. So, first you would apply for a nation that would look like this: Spoiler: Nation App Ign: Outerlocal Do you have the applicable cost in your balance?: Yes What will your nations name be?: Zodiac What towns will your nation include?(Two minimum, maximum of five free, 10k for each additional town, provide links.): Aerilion, Taron, Saggitaron, Picon, Caprica, ect. [insert link here] Don't bother staff about this blah blah blah...:Yes It would work just like towns, /Nation addmember Zodiac Joiliver and all the other variations. Then to add more towns: Spoiler: Nation addition app Ign: Outerlocal Do you have the applicable cost in your balance?: Yes What's is your nations name?(please provide link): Zodiac www.herptyderp.com Dun bother staffs blah blah blah....:yes Reason: So someone won't have to add people to their towns and all their separate features and such. It's tedious enough with three towns atm. Other Information: Very similar to town system but on a wider scale... Probably a s**t ton of work for Jamie. Link to this plugin/Is this a custom addition?: Custom?
Because what if I have a private town I don't want anyone to have access to, I want more then 1 nation, and nation names are not currently unique
+1. This is something I've pondered on a solution to since president. This is a really nicely put option.
Because the current nation system is far too antiquated to use. If we intend to use the system, we need to make it usable.
So - should we remove the nation question from the President application, add "Nation Application" and "Nation Addition Application" forms for Presidents+, and add a question about whether an additional town is part of a nation or not on their respective applications?
+1 Nations are currently pointless, this suggestion would be a nice addition that would hopefully not be too code-intensive for Jamie.
Before you ask, yes, this is possible, however, the way it would work would be very complex. Yes, I can do it.
<3 Nah, it's just a mess of the way you can handle what nation represents what towns, and who is a valid owner.
I wasn't talking about your side of things, I meant the policy side. Which is an easy enough fix but would need a discussion.
Complex? How? It's literally just worldguard parent regions with the selected towns being the child regions. It has actually been done before after I suggested it to andrew (but then he made it so every single town I owned would be in the parent region instead of just the 4 towns I wanted in there. So I never actually made use of it. Nobody really. it got removed.) A proper parent region implementation is all that's needed. The only custom coding it requires is a command for GAs to abstract it away from worldguard. (which is even less complex than the settown command anyway)
I do have a few concerns though... What happens if a town is sold to a new user? How do we add/remove towns? Or would we be able to? Would there be separate things to apply for?
1. If you sell a town in a/your nation to someone else, well, you probably shouldn't. Not without de-linking the town from the nation. 2. Pres+ Applications. 3. Well ideally national chat channels perhaps? Maybe a nation gets its own forum account. Who knows. Biggest feature is adding/removing people from the nation.
