I recently saw a design that was an almost pistonless auto sugar cane farm. I have come up with a way to tweak the design to make it 100% pistonless. However, I cannot place dispensers or water, and I am broke. So that why im asking for donations to make this dream a reality. I need money and over 3000 water and dispenser placements. anyone who does a lot of the water placement/ donates over 5000 ecd will be added to my town where the farm will be and be able to use it. I thank you in advance for your help. any leftover money will be donated to the builder bonus project thingy. If for any reason this farm cannot be built, all money will be returned to the people who donated. EDIT: phys says the farm is legal as long as the button is not automatic. this destroys the concept of 100% afk farming. but the concept is still there and we still need donations. Edit: heres how the farm works. ok so water flowing doesnt destroy cane. but, a dispencer placing water in the second level of cane destroys only that level but not the 1 level . Because the level of sugar cane ontop that has nothing to stand on, it breaks too. the water pushes the cane into a collection pond. It is also stackable
As you can see only light farms are banned. Which by the way, if you ask me doesn't make sense for two reasons: 1. People could just use water for same result, maybe different setup. 2. Light farms don't work anyway! I remember coming back from a time they were legal and working, unaware of the new rule, I tried to harvest it. It didn't work! I was too lazy to take it down but then got mailed that I had to. :¬| Took it down obviously, I don't need trouble. As for cactus farms... Meh, they're impossible to be big, you cant place cactus. One cactus block farms are impractical and not even worth breaking the rules for. Oh, and my opinions on this... I'd say that if you're building this, be ready to sit in a water stream forever. It will take a lot of time to wait. I'd also understand if you had a slow computer, making reed farming laggy (especially with fly/speed!). Since you don't have that... Whatever. Secondly, you are pretty much missing out on a big chunk of free McMMO Farming XP. Like, seriously, reed farming is the #1 way to get quick farming XP. Cheap and easy. Tell me if I'm wrong. Thirdly, you will have to spent a big chunk of money just to set up one reed block. BUD switch, dispenser and all. You might even need to spend extra just to get people to place dispensers and water. So, here are the key things: expensive, time consuming, no McMMO XP, profitable only in long term. Cros and Pons (Pros and Cons): Pros: -Automatic -After all, free money. Cons: -Expensive -No McMMO XP -Hard to build. -Long term investment. So, the moral of this ramble is, I gave you some info, but do what you want, go ahead and follow your farming dreams, @ryry07. ... Of course I forgot that this thread is just asking for donations and this is already happening. But half of it was written, and I like typing when bored. Not going to waste my time and text I wrote! If you manage to catch me online (which will be almost impossible, I'm on vacation), I will try and help you out if needed. But please supply the dispensers. Oh gosh, why did I add color...
Why not BUD it though? That's not completely auto, as well as quite a usual farming set up I'd say. I can help with redstone if bored.
I got a plan in mind, dont you worry, I am going to make a separate bud off to the side. EDIT: I have to stick with the button otherwise phys says itll break rules (that technacally still don't exist yet, but im sure will be added/ clarified soon)
Then that's kinda pointless. As soon as people find a way to make an autofarm with items not banned, the farm becomes illegal. We'll never autofarm this way.
And if it is illegal whats the reasons? He's not using any hacks , he's just using creativity. is creatity illegal? I m donating for using his creativity.
Your biggest problem is gonna be massively despawning sugarcane due to the amounts you'll get. Admittedly, should you have a set up with 1 floor being broken at a time (say with ~15-20 x64 cane growing squares per floor), then you could theoretically channel it all into a central depository where you could collect it easily enough. However, you'll still have this despawn problem. And you'll need to be hitting each floor's button and flying/climbing down to collect each time, then waiting for the water to stop, and repeating ad nauseum. All for ~$200-250 per floor. The amount of local lag caused by running even that many dispensers at once could create even MORE problems, thus decreasing the effective maximum harvest. At current sugarcane spawn rates...you'd need 2-3 "towers" to near world-limit to make this effective. That being said...I'd be down to help you build it, if I can take a look?
