So this works the same as having 2 cooking pots with separate chests? If so, this isn't a bug. But if it works differently, it is a bug.

Am I able to see your cooking pot? It may help we work out what exactly is slow.
So does it stop before that number reaches 0? It should cook whenever that number is greater than or equal to 50.
