Hey guys! I know that I have not posted a forum post like this in a while, but I wanted to start getting back into them. Today, I am going to be talking about people who get overpowered. Of course I am going to try and relate this to AEM, so I hope that you all enjoy! Also, make sure to leave your thoughts and comments in the comment section below.
First off, people are overpowered most of the time because of wisdom. "Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience" (Mark Twain). You should never be brought down to a level with someone who you know that you can out smart. Being wise is one of the best thing that you can be, along with having common sense... which a lot of players do not have. Of course if you do not have these attributes it does not mean that you are wrong or bad in any way, it just means that you have lots to learn... And this is where the issues come in.
Players on AEM do not want to learn or take experiences with them for the future. For example, doing something time and time again, and knowing that what you are doing is wrong. Here is where common sense kicks in. If you are told that something that you are doing is wrong, do not do it again... that is part of learning. We are all idiots... but not all stupid. Now, what am I saying? Yes, we are all idiots. Once example is when we get mad at a child for doing something wrong. What do little kids do? THE WRONG THING! And who is an idiot for yelling at the kid for doing what they are suppose to do? US!
Now being stupid is another story. Being stupid is doing something over and over and over again, even after being told that what they are doing is wrong. But, all that is left is learning.

I also wrote this poem that I want to relate to myself, and hopefully you guys can see the big picture with it. I would be happy to know that you did understand it, and learn from it :D. I hope that you all enjoyed this forum post, and again, all feedback is appreciated :).

    Dragging Down

It takes one to know the truth,
One of us to know what to do.
Every second, every minute, every time of day,
Thoughts are passing through like they are astray.
Connecting them to life, to wisdom, to understanding, to paths.
Who will know how to understand them in mass?
It is one, whom may say that it is them,
Has a brain that works like a charmed gem.
Little did they know the path was gone,
Far from it, from dusk till dawn.
The message getting across was the thought of hope,
The thought of teaching like a wise pope.
The message from others is that you can not click,
All that you need to know, is that you can and are it.

    Today was not the day

Since you linked me to this forum post you made via teamspeak, I am going to assume it's because you'd like to read my thoughts on it. I'll do my best to refrain from offense phrases and whatnot, but I just ask nobody takes anything I say too personally if you do find it offense, in the slightest bit. Thank you.

First off, Wisdom does not make you overpowered. I don't believe there is a such thing as "overpowered" in real life, unless you are talking about large scale of people using weapons against others, or a country holding nuclear weapons above another. In that case, yes. Then, you'd be overpowered. (Feel free to correct me here..)

My next argument is that, in some cases, (if you go by the definition of "Stupid" I/Google go by; Lacking intelligence or common sense) stepping off your high-horse every once in a while can actually be beneficial to both sides. You can learn quite a bit, seeing from someone else's point of view. I feel it goes with what I'd like to say next. Not trying to dis you or anything of the like, but you may just be putting yourself above others too much.

Assuming most players do not have common sense is totally off. How many players on AEM have you ever put the effort into talking to first, the shy or quiet ones who prefer not to be heard - may just be the smartest people on the server. Maybe, maybe not. Also, common sense and having a good education/environment to learn from while growing up are two very different things. Some people here might not have good role models in their lives to show them right from wrongs, or to teach them how to move on. Others, maybe not so much.

*** Issues? Who ever said there are issues for the younger members here, who haven't had enough life experience to know everything just yet? We need to respect the fact they are still learning, and we were all once at that point in our lives too. Give them a chance to learn from their mistakes. If they don't, then help them. If you are referring to the intentional trolls with the word "stupid", you could be wrong there too. Keep in mind, to many here, this is just a game on the internet and we are merely just "computer players" in their eyes. That does not make them "stupid." It just means they don't care so much about what happens here, or maybe expect people to have the maturity and common sense to realize this is only a game*. (Now lets not please get into the long discussion about how it's not "just a game" and how we are all human beings with feelings and etc..)

That whole last part there really got me confused on what you are trying to say. I'm basically just going to rephrase it how I view it. "Little Kids" are little. They have a lot to learn, that part is right. It is our job as "Big Kids" to be their role models and teach them the right paths to take. Yes, we need to help point out their wrongs when they do not see, but we also need to praise when they do the right thing. If any living being (human, or not, as I've learned from my 3 month old kitten) is not shown what they are doing wrong from the start, they will get used to doing it that way, and it will likely be their instincts to act/react that way for the rest of their lives. A common example I see happen a lot, (not stereotyping age groups or anything here at all, just using random numbers for the point of my example.) If you have a 10 year old, and a 16 year old playing some PVP-based game, and the 16 year old rages and goes into a cuss-fit, the 10 year old will see it's alright to behave that way and likely start doing it themselves. Then, once they are older, if someone tries to teach them the right way to react when unfairly killed (or whatever the cause of death might be) it can be hard to break old habits.

Anyways, apologies for making this so unbelievably long.
Once I start something and really get into it, I don't quite stop until I'm done. :p

They do enjoy reading them for the content, however the posts gets a bit tedious the longer they get.
