It seems like redstone lags up a storm on here; anyone else have this issue?
This only seems to flare up on Survival.

I agree. It only happenes (well most of the time) in survival. I am hoping AEM is able to find a plugin that prevents such things from happening.

Redstone if used in large quantity causes lag. I'd imagine if you made anything huge with moving contraptions it would cause lag.

The server has just been laggy in general, but I'm sure the problem will be solved soon enough.

So does that mean large contraptions in general are banned? Or just to be used with caution? Because I'd like to build I giant redstone elevator to my sky town...

Just be aware that if you build something that causes too much lag, then it may be removed, or asked to be made smaller.

I made a prototype elevator before, and it works well except in high-lag conditions. Basically it sends out a piston under you which then immediately extends, pushing you upward. I have timed this action to be, at its fastest, 2 ticks, so I can be sent up to my village 70 blocks in the sky in a matter of a few seconds, much faster than even someone with /fly enabled. Also if it does cause lag, like I said, it's an operation which takes a matter of seconds to complete and terminate, so it doesn't lag the server when it isn't in operation. I would make a test build today but as you know I can't quite log into survival :( lets not discuss why

Redstone lags even in single player, but AEM hates it

omg I did a proof of concept and the lag on AEM in general makes it almost impossible. Forget 10 blocks per second, I think I might be lucky if I get an elevator at all with how much redstone lags and doesnt work

Redstone clocks are extremely laggy. If there are any active on the server, that is probably why. Also, yes I agree it can be large quantities.

Well the #1 problem I see that causes lag is out of control mob grinders. Jacknat fixed his skeleton and blaze grinders, but the zombie one still fills up like crazy. I'm sure he's not the only one who has overflowing grinders.

I agree about the lag, but I also lag when there's too many animals in one area

I still need a clock to auto-clear my grinders.

I do not seem to have too much red stone lag, but do try to keep monster-sized red stone contraptions at minimal, if they are operating while a ton of people are online, there will be havoc.

Franco responded on here a little bit ago, no one is arguing, and the topic is still relevant. I don't feel like it really needs to be locked, but I will if that is what Franco would like. :D

You can lock it now; it's kind of an old subject matter at this point. :D
