Minecraft Name: Gernen Suggestion: Make hacking complaints like LWCs and give them their own section, so only the thread OP and staff members can see it. If the complaint is valid and the user is banned, the thread will be published, while if the claims are false, it will stay invisible. Reason: Well, there is a multitude of reasons this should be added. Game Admins will be able to keep track of the complaints on a separate forum. It will stop any slander going on in game if the claims are false, as having a hacking complaint on your name, even if false, is quite heavy. It will also stop all the irrelevant posts. I understand that some people might want to contribute, but a separate complaint could be filed. To answer the question 'What if we want to point out x/y/z in the video?', thank you for your concerns, but we have a team that is quite good at detecting hackers. Furthermore, Any Other Information: Feel free to post feedback below. Link To This Plugin: Forums.
Great idea, although there may be multiple people with evidence, would they have to post separate complaints or would they be granted access
I can see the appeal of this, but then I strongly believe that all players should be given the opportunity to defend themselves. As far as I am aware, there is no way using thread Moderation to just add one person (ie. the accused) to the thread. Perhaps someone can correct me on that? I've just had a quick look and couldn't see an obvious way.
I don't see how feedback is needed, all it does is cloud the final verdict of the people in charge of finding hackers.
To add onto this, could we do these complaints a little bit faster? I mean it kinda is bad when it takes 4 weeks to do one complaint, and most of them up right now are fairly obvious in the response. (Some definately not hacking, some very hacking)
As long as the evidence is released upon ban, I agree with this suggestion. In addition, I don't see why any accused should have the chance to defend themselves. Their actions/PvPing in game is the only evidence that is pertinent to the hacking complaint. What this member says is honestly irrelevant, and usually includes something along the lines of lag. This adds nothing. AFAIK, there have only been one or two false hacking complaints that resulted in bans. In this case, players will be able to counter this ban after the evidence is released upon a verdict is being reached. Basically, why would the accused need to defend themselves when the only thing that matters is the video of the supposed hacking?
Principally my post was in response to Vintage who said that he thinks all posts in this section should be moderated.
This makes sense. It would allow the team that handles these complaints to filter out all of the other ones. The one concern that i have is will the name of the accused be public without the actual accusation being seen? This could incite rumor mill to fire up. Other than that +1
A hacking complaint consists of a very underestimated prolonged process. The reason for this is because our current team designated specifically for these complaints take the upmost precaution in order to prevent falsely banning users who are innocent. I believe we're content with the system we have at the moment. As for privatizing these complaints to the OP and the staff, I see nothing other than positives. There should be no reason for a user who is accused of hacking to defend themselves. It's quite simple, it's either they were hacking or they weren't. The system in which we currently have for deciding this, hasn't failed us yet and frankly I don't see it failing us in the near future. I see a major difference in defending yourself in a hacking complaint and defending yourself in a scamming complaint. One complaint you can add another perspective, offering more evidence to the table. Providing proof of payment and such. However with hacking, other than the fact of saying you're guilty of using illegal modifications there's nothing one can add. I suppose you could one by one take screenshots of each frame of the attack and explain your actions with words, but isn't that ultimately for the staff to do and decide upon?
