Before you make a large deal with someone, it is a good idea to try to learn about them first. I always go to the Ban Appeals/Complaint Forum and do a search for their username before any large deal. 1. Go to the Ban Appeal/Complaint Forum: http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/forums/ban-appeals-complaints.14/ 2. Click where it says "Search" on the right side of the page. Type in the player's name. Press Enter, or Click Search. A list of all posts that contain that user's name will appear. Only posts from the Ban Appeal/Complaints Forum will be included. 3. Browse the posts and read them until you get a feeling for whether or not you trust this player. Having ban appeal(s) for scamming is an obvious red flag. Showing up as the felon in numerous scamming complaints is another red flag. I don't hold it against someone too much if none of their offenses are scamming-related.
Excellent advice. You can do the search relatively quickly too. If you just agreed to buy or sell something to someone, tab out and search the forums really quickly. It could take 60-90 seconds to get a feel if you can read quickly. the person should have no problem with waiting, if they do than maybe they aren't the right person to buy/sell from/to. make sure you do not post in any active complain or appeal threads unless you have information relevant to the discussion. I can't tell you how many times I have to hold myself back in that forum...
Never searched there before. I just go to their profile, and find all the threads posted by em, this is definitely much faster.
