Hi, my brother was playing on this server earlier on my account, it looks interesting, so I'm thinking I could maybe try it out, meet new people, and see if I can make something of myself! My name is Scott, however because that's not my username, I doubt that anyone shall address me as such. I have studied economics and politics extensively! Well, not extensively, I've read a few books, but I have a reasonable understanding of both fields, which has gotten me a reputation on the server I normally play on, along with lava walls, but that's another story. I change the colour of my skin on a monthly basis, the next scheduled change is on the 20th of August, to red, because rainbows. I was born in Northern Ireland and have lived there all my life, and I have been off the island of Ireland on two occasions. One excellent occasion, another alright occasion. [Mod-Edit] Discussing of another server Oh, by the way, I was also a mod on a Terraria server this one time before my internet got cut out and I went back, and it apparently shut down, and I've been playing Minecraft for 2 years and I have yet to get bored of it. Also, as I have discovered following the Steam Summer Sale, I'm sort of addicted to Civ V. But now, let me discuss my plans for participation on your great server. I've already taken a quick skim through the rules, and I have the link handy to refer to them. I'm also in the process of reading through your wiki. You guys allow banking? Awesomes, my old server didn't allow that! [Mod-Edit] Vulgar Language yea market-powered allocation of capital Big shout out to the people behind that 'The Builder's Getting Started Guide', by the way. Very helpful, very comprehensive. But anyway, here's what I'm going to do. 1. Buy a 10x10 plot in the biggest nation. 2. Staircase quarry in the Mining World. 3. Sell all mined resources, upgrade to a Resident then a Mayor. 4. Found the Walled City of Volticade, and a City of Volticade Corporation to govern it, complete with a Volticadian Army, the Volticade Volunteers (an organisation to promote good relations with the rest of ECC through good works for the community) and a City of Volticade Treasury, which both acts as a treasury for the city and a bank for the residents of Volticade and elsewhere. 5. Upgrade to a President. 6. Create Greater Volticade by surrounding the Walled City of Volticade with unwalled boroughs. Assuming each player is allowed 16 towns, Greater Volticade will be an 800x800 megalopolis, measuring 640 square kilometres. At that point, I would likely seek a trusted resident of Volticade to help me continue expansion. I'm rather strapped for time, but I hope to participate a great deal in the community! Edit: Sorry mods, I got the impression from the rules that non-excessive swearing was permitted, and I must have missed the part about discussing other servers
Each player is allowed as many towns as he or she can get, the hard part is earning enough money to get them.
Aw, thanks for the hospitality! Also, Quieted was kind enough to give me a free plot in his fairly minimalist settlement, big shout-out of thanks to him!
Okay, I've been working on plans for the city, because the server is undergoing maintenance. Volticade will be modelled on London, with a city within a city to oversee all. The Walled City of Volticade will be shaped like the City of London within Greater London. The city will be squeezed into the 200x200 allotted area and the gaps will be converted into gardens, filled with dandelions and gargoyles spewing water and lava. There will be one central Volticade Tower, housing the entirety of the city's government, including the Volticadian Army, the City of Volticade Treasury, and the Volticade Volunteers, as well as a meeting hall for citizens, where they can engage in dialogue with the City of Volticade Corporation and vote for a Lord Mayor to represent them on the City of Volticade Corporation's Board of Directors. As for Greater Volticade, the wider city made up of minor boroughs ruled by the Walled City, I will make a very good effort to expand it to an area of 900 square kilometres...in other words, I want to take over the entire world, all the way to the border, with my city, despite how it would take 22,499 boroughs and would be practically impossible Out of curiosity, is there a live map?
Unfortunately our live map was taken down a few months back. :/ Anyways, welcome to the server! Its one of the best out there and I have a feeling you are going to fit right in See you around!
I can confirm that, this guy was my founding partner in the big project I spoke about in the OP, he'll be assisting me in co-mayoring Jason1964's town and (later on) building Volticade. Everyone say hi!
Thank you Hlaz, I hope to be an outstanding member of the community now my initiation as a member of ECC has been completed ^_^
Yes I suppose that works... You actually tried to lava around the entire portal area and charge people fee's?
As soon as I have the funds to found Volticade, I assure you I will make a point of including you in my town ^_^ Until then, there are many ways you can help. I'm co-mayoring Newsilver, Jason's town. We're working on fixing the town up so it's presentable for a thread we're going to post up, allowing people to bid on land area and apply for planning permission, all in one go. If you decide to volunteer, we need Cobble (to make furnaces to pave the roads), Dirt (to fill in the large gaping holes and that river within the town border), labour (in the form of quarrying all ores and stone from below Newsilver to utilize the land we possess to the absolute maximum), and leaves (for hedges, a key element of the civic aesthetic). If none of that is your fancy, you're welcome to make a monetary donation. Yes. L0tad can confirm, it sort of became my identity on my previous server once everyone stopped hating me o rly I like you too, on the grounds that you are: likable not unlikable Office doesn't copy people. If he appears to be copying someone, that is not the case; the reality is that the person allegedly being copied went forward in time, saw Office doing something, went back to the past, and copied Office. It's the same concept which means that if you have $5, and Office has $5, Office has more money than you. offiss <3
