Whats the worst injury that has happened to you?! Whats the worst you have seen? Post it below (but use [ spoiler] [ / spoiler ] and *gore warning* it if it looks all blughh)
I don't have pictures, but I fractured both of my wrists, and put my left wrist about 15 degrees down, so it looked like a fork sorta... It happened on a Friday, and I went to the hospital on the following Wednesday... I also had a really bad ingrown toenail, so I went to a specialist to get rid of it. His way? Cut out the side of your toe... then let it grow back... Yeah, that was also painful... (not really an injury, but it hurt!)
I have tore open one of my knuckles with a can opener, then accidentally tore it even more a week later accidentally smacking one of my friends in his face on his teeth. I have a nice scar from it. I have only broken one bone and that was a pinkie toe bone from when I was in wrestling in 8th grade. I was 110 pounds then and I liked to wrestle with guys in the 200+ lbs weight class. I made the mistake of not wearing wrestling shoes against a 250 lb guy during practice and he snapped my toe, stepping on my foot. I have tore open gashes in my legs and arms from flying off my bike as a kid on a old wooden bridge and I had huge splinters in my arm. I have other gross injuries that ended up in surgery as well, but I won't mention those.
Hmm I have 4: I was sledding and I flew off a ramp and my sled fell out from under me and when I landed my first was snapped all the way back and now I can pop it out. No 2: I was playing football and I was running up the right sideline and a HUGE guy knocked me over and my shoulder went crunch. I never went to the doctor or let it heal, so I can pop that out too xD. No 3: I was at manards store and they have these wire shelf, so I run by one and trip and the metal wire stuck into y head and I got stitches. No 4: my grandpa was walking on a tile floor and the floor broke and his leg right into it, and the tile ripped like all the skin off his whole leg and you could almost see the bone.
My worst medical injury was my appendix blowing up when I was 13. My worst physical injury was when I was 16, racing my dirtbike out at Unadilla National... I caught a rut the wrong way and got tossed and ran over twice. I had a hairline fracture in my left hand pinky finger, my left shoulder got dislocated, and I wound up with a nice concussion. My mom didn't want me to ever ride again, but ya... If you've ever gotten into riding, you'll never want to stop!
I avoid danger... Worst two things I can think of (not really injuries) were losing an entire fingernail - and not even realizing until an hour later - and slicing the bottom of my right foot open a bit from a broken Barbie toy kitchen. I was really young both of those times, lol. However, I am pretty sure I break and/or dislocate my toes all of the time. I just don't go anywhere because they can heal on their own (or I pop them back in).
Not-so-gory, definitely SFW stories. 1. Little bit of background to this story first. I used to BMX. My grandpa taught me how to ride a bike by the age of 3, and no training wheels were allowed once I turned 5. Needless to say, he is the reason I was so into biking. About a week before 8th grade started, I was with a few of my friends behind a local school. This school's backyard had a small forest-like area, and the natural hills and ditches it provided were perfect for our jumps. After we were done jumping, we headed on out to my house to go watch movies. To get back to the road, since the yard is fenced in, you had to go through the school area. We were on the basketball court when I hit a patch of sand, and my bike skidded out from under me and sent me dragging. My whole right shin/knee and elbow were bloodied up, and if I didn't remember to keep my head off the ground I would have had a concussion (WEAR YOUR HELMETS AND BODY PADS, CHILDREN). By the time I got up, my friends had already abandoned me. I walked home, and made a quick stop at 7/11 to get some water and napkins. (The employee's faces were priceless when i walked in bloody and carrying a bike with a blown out tire). I refused to go home, and went to my grandma's house right nextdoor, at which point she proceeded to douse my leg in alcohol/antiseptic and tweeze rocks out of my knee. This accident broke my shin and fractured my elbow, and i missed the first 2 or 3 days of 8th grade. If anyone wants proof, my knee is forever scarred from this incident and I can take a picture to prove it 2. During the sumer right before my 5th grade, my mom was driving me to my friend's house for her pool-birthday party. She kept talking about how she should get me a cell phone since I wasn't very good at remembering phone numbers (her cell/beeper number especially (a beeper is a stone-age device now, children )). Basically, at the party, I dove off the diving board and my friend's younger cousin cannonballed without waiting for me to come up from the water, and she cannonballed right onto my face. I came up from the water in a panic, and blood was everywhere, and when her dad asked who to call I couldn't say since I didn't remember any phone numbers. He called around and within 15 minutes my mom was there, screaming and rushing me to the ER. Turns out the girl broke my nose, but it wasn't damaging enough to deviate my septum or leave any serious scars/damage. Lucky me I guess! Spoiler: Contains Small Gore, Read At Discretion My aunt and uncle were both medical nurses and residents at a local college/hospital, and from time to time I was allowed to visit them. My aunt took me in to see my uncle one day, I was probably around 8 or 9ish. Little to either of our knowledges, he was working on a cadaver. I walked in just in time to see him opening the skull cavity and prodding around with his giant metallic tools. Very scary, and is probably part of the reason I can't stand the sight of blood/human organs other than my own. **edit: if you're ever in need of a good personal gore story, come to me. If I haven't lived it, one of my family members in the medical field has seen, and thus told me about, it.
I left three out in the origional post, so here ya go xD - THE day we were going to disney world i decided to ride down a large hill on a 'rip-stick'. If you don't know what a rip stick is, its basically a skateboard that can bend side to side. So, inwas going down this hige hill, and hit a small rock. I jumped off, broke my leg, got a concussion, and scraped most of the skin off of ine side of my face and off of one of my sholders. Some how though, it only postponed our disney land trip for one day xD One day, I was 'dared' to jump off of the large part of the play ground onto the monkey bars. I managed yo acheive this, but i didnt think of a little thing called velocity and gravity. Basically, i did a back flip and landed on my chest. I had a chest contusion and a concussion, and a sore neck. Also, i went from school (everyone saw) to the hospital in an ambulance >:3 About 2 weeks after my monkey bar incedent, i was running from my freinds playing tag on the playground and i stepped in a drain pipe and broke my ankle. I was know for a year as 'injury'. -_- One more, which didnt happen to me but my friends grandma, happened 2 weeks ago at the beach. (I went to the beach with them, so i saw the whole thong) She was walking on a porch with wooden plankes on the floor, an managed to get a 'splinter' in her foot. She went to the hostpital, and came back with a large peice of wood in a a plastic bag. Aparently, there was a HUGE peice of wood in her foot (about 5-6 inches in her food). Also, i havent really don't the story of my pinkey. To make a long story short, i dunked on a basket ball goal and it fell over. It was made of all wood, and it was wet, so it was really heavey. It laneded on my pinkey, and my skin was totally pulled back showing the bone and all that good stuff.
Welllll.. here are my top 3 worst injuries from dirtbiking, skating, sports, or whatever (I do crazy things) 1. I have a cool little dirt mound behind my house that doubles really well as a ramp for motocross and such, so I tried to land a lazyboy backflip. The only problem was that I landed with my body still flat, whipping my head back and damaging my spine. I had a back brace and a really sore neck 2. I was walking home from school when I tripped on the curb and I broke my nose. 3. Another dirtbike story. This is on the same mound behind my house, except I wanted tail whip over and I landed it hard and I fractured my coccyx but it wasn't that bad.
i moved a bed and when i released it the bed fell on my toenail so i told my brother while squirling out of pain "i think i broke my toeail" i looked downwards to my sock seeing it has a stain of blood saying "YUP, i broke my toenail"anyways it was a traumatic shock for the nailbed so the toe has been sloughed later :s (it was pretty cool to have no nail over there XD) but now it healed and i haz my toe back again
When i had to have 'surgery' on my pinkey for what happened, they had to basically yank the nail off, replace my nailbed and that stuff, and glue it back on. It took. It a while to grow back, but its almost fully grown now. But it huts like crap! D:
I was playing Pool, and the next second I kinda hit myself with the Pool-stick in the head and almost passed out, I have no idea how that happened but it did. The doctor told me to not to sleep more that 1 hour at the time and not to watch any TV in 3 days. Worst 3 days of my life.
What do you mean by not sleeping for more than 1 hrs at a time? Did you set an alarm clock at night??
Well, my dad had to wake me up every hour. I then had to take a walk around the house too see if everything was ok with me (That I didn't have any Bleedings to my brain) and then go to bed again.
Well, y'all have so many injuries... These are probably my worst ones. 1: I was helping my Grandpa and my siblings (we were over at their house for the summer) wash my Grandpa's car, we were all having fun and all wet and stuff because obvious reasons, my Grandpa was around the corner of the house, and came around to try to scare either me or someone else outside, and he scared me and I fell over and madly scraped my knees. *shudders* just thinking about how they looked, took a couple - few weeks to really heal. This was like 4+ years ago, btw. 2: Probably about, hmm, 2 - 3 years now? ago, I was babysitting a kid I know, and I was cooking pasta for us to eat. And to be clear, at the time I was 11 or 12, and I've been cooking since I was 9 without incident. I was going to strain the pasta in the sink, and I lost my grip or the handle was too hot, and I spilled hot, boiling water all over my thumb, pointer, and middle finger on my right hand. Thankfully, no scars.. Oh, you can see it here: http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/my-burnt-hand.2114/#post-14294 Edit: Nevermind, the image must've been removed, oh well. 3: Not really a serious injury or anything, but several years ago (5+) I was playing baseball with my brother (@D0rc) and I was the pitcher, I pitched the ball to him and he hit it, straight into my head. Yeah, ouch. And I'm not ENTIRELY sure, but this might've happened twice, not on the same day though. We're not really hospital people, so I have no idea to this day whether or not I had a concussion or if I have any remodeled fractures in my skull. (Okay, maybe that's dramatic.) 4. Another baseball related injury, also 5+ years ago. Me, @D0rc, and @MoofinK were playing catch, so basically we all formed a triangle and ust threw a baseball around, and I threw the ball to Moofin, who threw it to D0rc, and so on and such forth, well, I threw it to Moofin and we were talking, and D0rc tried to throw the ball to me, albeit very hardly, and guess what? He didn't notice I wasn't looking. And guess what again? It hit me straight in the nose. Ouch. I didn't bleed or anything, as far as I can remember, and I have no idea if it was broken, but probably not. Yeah, not very interesting, no broken bones or bmx bikes, which seem to be a running theme.
