Ok, I know the server is still going through growing pains, but I'm curious (and frustrated) to know if / why wheat farming changed. Here is what I did before 1.3: 1.walk into single chunk wheat farm tower. 2. choose floor with fully grown wheat. 3. hit light switch (lever) to harvest wheat. (redstone lamps) 4. turn lights back on. 5. hold either 'A' or 'D' to slide sideways and hold rightclick to replant. 6. move to next row and repeat. 7. once entire floor is replanted, move to next floor. This worked great. No lag, no hangups, no problems, The problem I am having now (post 1.3) is that when I replant with the same method, multiple seeds disappear. I slide down a row, planting as i go...and some of the sprouts just disappear. They HAD sprouts in the block, but they just vanish. Now, before you chime in on this, the entire farm worked correctly before 1.3, so it's not: water, irrigation, lights, or incorrect planting method or even wheat growing slower. It. Worked. Before. So, does anyone know what changed? Is this something that is part of 1.3, or is this something that is buggy and being worked on? I can handle the buggy version because it will eventually work again, but if "this is the way it is from now on", then I need a new farming crop. I would rather build than farm, but farming creates my funds to build with. Frustration with my farm because I have to replant 1-5 blocks twice...sometimes FIVE times in a row, do not make me want to farm wheat.
Most likely, lag It's really depending on your location, I live in Italy so my connection is horrible with seconds of lag. Your is more severe by the sounds of it. There is really nO easy way to fix this. Someone could probably explain better than me so wait for others to post.
Check how many seeds you have, and how many is needed to plant the row. Plant the row, and then check how many you have left. If any disappear check again how many seeds you have in your inventory. In guessing the lag is jumping you back to where you hadn't planted and you are not really losing any seeds its just the lag. Lag spikes are also causing blocks to suddenly be put back after breaking and other things which is most likely the same problem your seeing. RagMan
Thanks Rag, I am seeing a lot of rubber-banding. I was just curious if it was something that can be fixed or if it's going to be this way until say 1.4 comes out or something.
