Here is a basic list of every thing you need to build 5 ranges of PC's. These builds are assuming that you already have a Monitor, Keyboard, and Mouse. I am trying to answer the constant question, "Gaming PC," "I have $xxxx to spend".

A great website to go through the process step by step:
    Toms Hardware

The builds will be based on MaximumPC Blueprints, Toms Hardware, and other various sources. I will try to update these monthly.

Below you will find the following builds:

    Budget: Approx $350 - $775

    Baseline: Approx $1100

    Performance: Approx $1500

    Ultra: Approx $3500

    Dream: NO LIMIT

My GPU was top of the line $600 card but it's now 2 generations old.. Still based on the same general design as current nVidia chips but it suits me well for the time being. I can play everything at max settings 1920 x 1200.

GTX 580 is a modified version of the 400 series. It is a refreshed Fermi chip 512 stream processors with 32 CUDA cores. 40 nm process also called the GF110 GPU.

GTX 770 is basically an modified version of the 600 series. It is a refreshed Kepler chip.

GTX 770 a more efficient version of the GTX 680.

The GTX 780 is a cut down version of the Titan (GK110) which is based off of nVidia's high performance computing used in the Tesla K20 and K20X modules.

Buy your rig at Microcenter if there's one in the area; they will bundle everything together if you ask, cutting off around 40%-60% if you get higher end stuff. Here's mine, which I got for $1,200.
    • GeForce GTX680
    • i7 3770k (Quad Core)
    • Western Digital 2 TB Black Hard-drive
    • Asus P8Z77-V Motherboard
    • Corsair AX 850 Power Supply
    • Corsair H80i Liquid Cooling
    • Fractal Design R4 Case
    • A $5 Inland 5 button mouse
    • A $2.99 Ground-Attached wristband
    • 16 GB Ripjaw RAM
I like. All the other parts I ripped from my previous computer, such as two disc drives and the previous 1 TB hard-drive. And my USB octopus. <3

I highly recommend this baby here for a Wifi adapter; it has never failed me, and the range is ridiculous: TP-Link. Mind, I have the network needs for the strongest version just to get by so I felt good about the $50 purchase; check out some of the smaller versions to see if they fit your needs.
