    Beijing

Tiananmen Square, home of the 1989 student protests. The guy standing in front of tank, "Tank Man" was a famous picture from here.

A woman had apparently set herself on fire days before our arrival... the fire extinguishers are precautions toward preventing that.

The Tiananmen Gate, also known as the Gate of Heavenly Peace, is just outside Tiananmen square. It leads into the Forbidden City.

Part of the Forbidden City. The Forbidden City was the Imperial Palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty.

An overview of the Forbidden City. It has 9,999.5 rooms, as 9 was meant to be the emperor's number. Every door has golden half circles dotting it, 9 across and 9 down of each, in a grid-like formation.

A 4-star toilet in the Forbidden City, and let me tell you, it wasn't that special.

A long-shot view of the Summer Palace, which our group did not enter. According to our guide, the lake (partially shown here) and the hill on which it's built are both completely artificial. This came about from the idea of Fung-Shui. The Summer Palace served as the Summer home of emperors.

A more full picture of the Summer Palace and its surroundings.

Pandas! Less than 300 exist in the world.

Red pandas! Cute, but also extremely rare.

Outside of the Olympic Stadium, where the 2008 Beijing Olympics were held.

This is the Water Cube, where the water sports for he Beijing Olypmics were held.

A beautiful view of the Great Wall of China at the Juyong pass.

    Xi'an

I can't remember the name of this temple... but it was coo.

    Terracotta soldiers!

Better view of a different area, there were 3 buildings all built around the dig sites.

    Guilin

A view from on top of the Guilin wall. It's 8 miles around the inner city, and my group ended up biking around it. It was quite an incredible view, but this is the best picture.

This is a Buddhist temple in Guilin. There were monks everywhere, and you can even climb to the top!

One of the views from the top (ew smog)

    Fake apple stores... lol.

People in Guilin are rich... Hnnnnggg

A little town an hour outside of Guilin...

A cave inside a mountain in Guilinn, perty coo.

A picture of Guilin from a mountain in the middle of the city. The red thing is an advertisement for something... can't remember what.

Reed Flute Cave in Guilin. All the lighting in here is artificial.

    Shanghai

A view of "The Bund", a collection of very tall buildings, most of them have ads or names on them like the one to the far right.

A pirate ship! My group actually rode on it, it's a 2 hour sightseeing trip up and down the river (quite boring other than the fact that it's a pirate trip).

A koi pond! You could even feed them. Some of them are huuuge (2.5-3 feet long).

    Snake wine... Didn't try it.
