Alright so not that long ago khobbits decided that the current setup of trade signs caused a lot of issues for servers, and users. It did this by generating a bit of lag, when each time the items flowed down onto the floor. About 1.5-2 months ago Khobbits talked with a few staff in ventrilo about possible fixes on the issue, and the following was somewhat thought up: When destroying a trade sign, it will fill your inventory. The items that normally always spread all over the floor get placed into a new sign, this will have all the same info as before, except for the amount, it will only put in the amount that was never actually added to your inventory at that time. You must break the sign each time until all items are out, there is no way of "Cheating the system". This means: Less possibility of lag when breaking large signs such as signs containing a lot of melons/items. Less/no chance of loosing items that are on the ground to /butcher More organization, less rushing when needing to put your items away. Now I posted this due to multiple users asking me why their sign would not break, each time I have asked them "Is your Inventory currently full" and "Is it full with the items that are currently in the sign". This is a thread to inform those of you whom do not know of this update at the moment, I may be missing a bit of information so Skylexia or KHobbits may feel free to edit this, and add anything that I may have missed. ~pbrassat17 ECC Moderator
This is wonderful information!! Great news and makes me feel better about placing plenty of items in high demand trade signs. Thanks so much.
So if you have a sign that sells 64 dirt for $5 each, when you break the sign it'll replace the sign with the leftover dirt still at $5 each?
No, if you have lets say enough room in your inv for 5 dirt but there are 7 dirt in sign, it'll fill your inv and make new sign with the dirt that didnt fit in your inv (so 2).
Yeah, and I am about to talk to sky to see if she wants me to add this as a wiki page so that people looking at the wiki can see this aswell.
As you no doubt are aware, you can currently refill signs by right clicking the sign with the stack of items you want to add to it. This works for pretty much everything but exp and money. I couldn't come up with a good way to add exp or money to signs, if anyone has good suggestions, feel free to make a thread about it (make sure i'm tagged obviously). One other thing I was considering doing, was making it is you were crouched when you click on a sign, it counts as 8 clicks. This would allow for buying/selling to trade signs much faster, only I'm worried that lots of people would accidentally 'shift click' and buy 8x what they actually wanted. Not really sure what would be best to do with this.
It would be so helpful to have those features, KHobbits Is this possible? Command: /exp <amount> example: after entering the command /exp 825, you right click your trade sign that sells exp to put 825 orbs of exp in. Command: /money <amount> Example after entering the command, you right click your trade sign that is buying things from other users to add <amount> money to the sign. For buying bulk amounts faster: maybe you could have it buy items at a faster rate, the longer you hold down right click? I like your shift click idea too. Another idea for buying bulk amounts faster: Command: /trade <number> After entering this command, you click on a trade sign to purchase from or sell to that sign <number> of times.
