Hi I am relitavely new to this server so could somebody plz explain in more detail how to make trade signs.

And a bonus question - how can I store items / money / xp in a trade sign
(if my base is safe)

You should check out the wiki. It has all the info you need on this. Link is at the top of the page.

However first you will need to save money and get resident as you have to be resident to be able to make trade signs.
