Goddess opened her eyes for the first time to a formless world. What was this place? How had she arrived there? She had no memory of anything. One minute everything was blank and she had no feelings and the next she was in a pitch black world. An idea struct her. The first idea of all time. Creativity. She thought of objects and they appeared. She formed a world and sat upon a throne. What was the point though? There was nothing to admire it. She explored her newly formed world and happened upon beings who appeared to look like her.

This Goddess helped them achieve their goals. She tutored them and helped them grow. When they needed counseling she provided it. They were the first family.

Years passed and Goddess was terrified when she witnessed the first death of her people. They all mourned together as she laid him to rest in the ground. As everyone went about their way sobbing and horrified Goddess turned back for a final look at the grave site. A being that was pitch black quickly darted out in to the wilderness. Shocked she went searching for it.

Trees everywhere. A setting sun cast shadows all over. It could be hiding anywhere. Alert and slightly terrified she left the forest to return to the safety of her village. She was welcomed by her townsfolk but something was off. An eerie sound came from the forest. The slightest moaning.

Prior to this day there were no threats to the people. There was no death. But a Darkness had caused panic and chaos. The townspeople lost trust in their deity. They gossiped among themselves as she cried upon her throne.

The next day as Goddess gave a speech to calm her people one in the front stared intently.

"She casts no shadow as we do!"

A hush fell across the crowd. Goddess didn't know what to do. Was it her shadow that was causing this? Where had it gone? How could this be? She covered her tracks with lies saying as a Goddess she had no shadow like normal people. Her first lie.

Months went by and this lie was constantly on her mind. There were great times. A golden era for the townspeople. But a good number of them left to create their own towns without Goddess. They had lost faith.

One day the townsfolk went to her temple to talk and ask for help and she was no where to be found. They looked desperately but to no avail. She had vanished from her "family".

This is when the chaos began.

Deep in the forest the Darkness created things of its own. Zombies, mutant spiders, creepers, skeletons, and other evil creatures. Without Goddess to protect her people the Darkness could easily attack whenever it wanted. And so it did.

The Darkness started simple. It went around the town whispering lies and creating doubt. Then it sent in its creatures to do as much damage as possible. The towns had no weapons or defenses. Few were lucky enough to survive.

They yelled for their Goddess yet she was no where to be found.

As a new day dawned the survivors built up walls and forged weapons. They prepared themselves yet they didn't know that the Darkness was also playing on their minds turning them against each other.

Goddess saw smoke on the horizon as she sat in a cave overlooking a lake. She flew back to see cities smoldering. She could not do anything for them. She felt helpless. Terrified, she headed back to her cave and sat in deep contemplation trying to find a way to help.

There was nothing she could do.
