Stories from Ulfric's journal. Entry 1. Every Heartless Man Has a Tragic Past: I awoke to screams and the stench of burning homes. In my half asleep state I reached for my wife only to feel an empty bed. The screaming continued as I began to stumble around breathing heavily. My worst fears were coming to life as I noticed my son too was missing and as I stood in his doorway the room caught fire. I coughed harshly as I ran to the door. By this point I was completely awake and saw the men of my town fighting soldiers in blood red armor. I didn't know how to react. My whole life I had been taught to fight back and not turn from a fight. My village was under attack yet I stood still and watched. The screams continued as my friends fell to the ground. It was hopeless. The attackers had weapons with some sort of enchantment on them. The poor peasants of my town had never even witnessed one of these weapons in person. They were tossed several feet back with every hit and stood no chance against these evil attackers. As the men I had known my whole life fell to the ground as I stood frozen and I saw a man walking towards me. He had no armor or weapons but I could tell he was in charge of the attack. His garments were of some foreign land and he had a long cloth hanging from a strange collar. He slowly lifted his arm as if he were pointing directly at me and stopped walking. All of his men formed a hoard behind him. Their eyes glowed red and their swords glistened like water in the moonlight. Suddenly I was hit hard in the side and pulled up on to a pitch black horse. Some hooded person guided the horse not saying a word to me. As we rode off into the wilderness I turned to see my home town burning down and my friends scattered across the ground. The man who had caused the attack shouted out towards us saying, "Ulfric, you cannot escape time itself!" I sat puzzle as we continued off into the forest. I lost control of my body as reality hit me like being trampled by an ox. Every thing slowly faded to black and I fell forward against my savior's back. Part 2 coming soon! It's halfway done.
