Watch out for people selling "Pumpkin Axes", as there are people selling axes with poor enchants on them for the same price as a maxed out axe. Do not assume that you're getting an Eff5 Unb3 D-Axe. Make them tell you the enchants and levels before paying.
This happened to me today, I assume me talking about this issue in donator chat is the reasoning behind this thread.
Its amazing that people actually get away with this kind of crap. They go out there selling these kinds of things to higher levels such as presidents. Its just absolutely pathetic how people think they can make a quick buck here and there like that.
Its illegal and if you get screenshots then you can get the user banned. For my first time ever I trusted a builder and payed him after he showed me the proper axe in a /cdonation chest. I payed him and he tossed me a different axe. My mistake was my money left my pocket before I recieved the axe. This was the first time I ever trusted a builder and probably my last. It's a real shame since some of them are quite nice.
Has ecc really sunk this low, I hope not. I would slightly understand if a builder did it as they may not know exactly what a "pumpkin axe" is, but if someone above that rank is doing it then....well I don't even know. Remember guys, take screenshots of EVERY transaction and ALWAYS ask for the EXACT enchants.
One day I was helping a resident friend get mayor telling him he should buy a eff 5 ubr 3 pumpkin axe. He couldn't find a seller and neither could I. Then in a week you have at least 5 people selling a "Pumpkin axe" at any one time. One of them selling a eff 5 ubr fort 2. The other a eff 4 ubr 3 and few other selling other random enchants. I believe people should stop calling things by names and actually state the enchants clearly. It is also the buyers fault for not taking proper precautions, taking screenshots, using a donation chest etc.
I don't think he's saying all builders are like this just some. A builder does have a higher chance of being a scammer as many of the scammers have been banned before they reached a higher rank.
I was referring my earlier comment to how he said he would never trust a builder again. I think it is very rude to look down upon an entire group. He may have lost his respect for builders but that doesn't mean the entire group has to be boycotted!
I think stuff like this should be defined in the wiki, especially since they define a pumpkin axe in the spawn shop as being eff 5 unb 3. But for many new members their focus is just money and they don't look to the wiki that often. Another thing that I think it would be good is to set a reminder for new members like builders/residents that shows maybe as often as the donator reminder that could define some of the more prevalent items that are sold. It would give buyers and sellers something to go by when they buy/sell items.
If you don't want to minimod, then don't post this. No one was being bashed, accusolhd did do this, he admitted it himself in chompin-02's complaint thread.
Since Eff V. Unbr. III axes are sold in the star shop under the title "pumpkin axe," this should be the definition, just as everyone knows the enchants on a melon sword. The server defines pumkin axe, so this kind of scam should be impossible. This is an extremely valid logical path.
accusolHD why would you scam chompin? You made such a big deal by posting that vouch thread.... This pretty much makes that thread and all your vouches erevelent
