The Aether: Getting Started

Hi, My name is HDvorteX. I have a lot of experience on this server and in this tutorial I will be using my knowledge to educate you in getting started with our server's "skylands", more commonly known as the Aether.

First off, in order to get to the Aether - you need to buy it. The rank you need to access the Aether is the "Pilot" rank. This rank costs 20,000 (twenty-thousand) Eco-Dollars. When you have the money, go to:

and find the Pilot/Aether Application.

After you read the instructions, copy the application and paste it into a New Topic on this section:

Eventually, the administrator Andrewkm will see to your application and accept or [rarely] deny it. Congratulations! You just gained access to the Aether!

Now that you have the rank, you can type /spawn and walk to that giant space shuttle at spawn. You may have to walk around a bit to find it, but when you do, you'll see something like this:

You are now at the Aether Spawn. Here's a larger view of the area:

Now, before you go wandering around you are recommended to have some gear with you. Such gear may consist of:
- A pickaxe, preferably iron or diamond.
- A shovel.
- An axe.
- A fair amount of food.
- A few stacks of any cheap block. (Not needed if you have the fly feature)

Remember this: if you fall into "The Gap" (fall off an island) you will die unless you quickly teleport away. Dying in the Aether is very dangerous if you die in The Gap, because you will lose all of your items with no hope of getting them back.
Also, NEVER grief in the Aether. You will most likely be banned.

All of these items will help you in the Aether. The reason why you might need a few stacks of any cheap block is because the Aether consists of many islands; so you're going to need some way to travel from one to the other, unless of course you have the fly feature.

- If you have fly, the Aether is much easier to navigate. It also makes it easier to spot & retrieve rare ores from the islands.
- The Aether is FULL of rare ores. Just look around - I'm sure you'll find something.
- Many people buy the Pilot feature and gain access to the Aether because they wish to mine there.
- When you fall off an Island in the Aether, you do not fall back to the normal world; you fall into "The Gap". After falling for a certain time you will lose health dramatically and die.
- The Aether has no town protections in it.
- Unlike the Nether, the Aether allows LWC protections.​
