I have a suggestion to make PVP more challenging in the mining world. Having watched everyone go at it to the left of the spawn for a while. I've noticed that as soon as someone starts getting attacked or thinks they are about to die, they just do /spawn or /home and get back to safety. I suggest adding a waiting period of say 5 seconds until you are teleported to /spawn or /home. For example: I type /spawn and a message comes up saying "you will be teleported in 5 seconds". Then I must wait 5 seconds until I am teleported to the spawn. Thus not allowing me to just weenie out when I think I'm about to die because someone got the upper hand on me and is about to kill me. What does everyone think?
Hmm... interdasting... if this is implemented, two things would happen. People would rage quit more often. And hence, less people will enjoy pvp. Because a hunter needs prey. So if all the prey are gone because they cant run fast enough, all the hunters will go elsewhere. Pvp ends. I personally think the stress of typing /spawn fastenough is... well... enough.
I think that A) then harmless non pvpers would be killed easier & B) it would make it too easy to kill someone who was just in a pvp fight
Isn't that the point of PVP? You go out there, you take the chance of being killed. It shouldn't matter if you just fought someone and won and are weakened. If someone takes advantage of the opportunity and comes to finish you off, that's kind of the risk you take going in there. Also who is harmless? It's PVP everyone is a potential aggressor/victim.
Everyone is but then people who go mining just get stalked by pvper and then get killed which is y I suggest an area purely for mining i mean if you want to pvp go to pvp area and do it.
I personally don't PVP but i think all of those who are saying PVP makes mining more of a challenge are right. A world where you can go mine without any danger is gonna flood the market with ores and stuff. We don't need that. And besides, if its that easy then the mining world will look like the normal world; criss crossed with mine shafts so you have nowhere keft to mine. Leave it as is! (apologies if i just restated everything thats been said before)
I'd be ok with this if everyone in the mining world had the same weapons/armor/mcmmo stats. Another server I was on with world PvP set this up and people left in droves. Catering to a small user base alienates the rest of the players.
Nonononononono That is what I think, maybe Andrew, if it is not a major inconvenience, could make it half pvp and half non pvp. That way both sides are happy. Miners get their peace and pvpers get their fights. Ta dah! And of course put signs to show which way to where. So a miner doesn't get trapped in pvp and a pvper doesn't know why no one is getting hurt when he hits them.
This thread is OLD. Since making this suggestion I've learned a lot more about essentials than I used to. I'm pretty sure the teleport delay cant be separated between worlds. At least not without adding a separate plugin to do it. Having it turned on in the main world is not a good idea as people will use it as a troll tactic to keep people from teleporting by pushing them.
