Minecraft Name: Dr_Dragon_Slayer Suggestion: Get rid of forum mini modders. Reason: Lately there have been many warnings toward people who continually mini mod or comment on threads. These know-it-alls think that whatever they say goes, but it's not. They keep on spurting out this useless garbage that wastes the staff team's time. The warnings are not working at all, the same morons are posting, and it's become ridiculous. What do I propose? I have two options; Option One: Set higher punishment for posting such posts on complaint forums. Give a week ban, in game of course! Now there will be people who whine, "Well that certainly is suuuch a lonnnggg time!" Well, how do you bypass this? Don't post stupid stuff on that section of the forums. If they do do it, they'll learn their lesson in a week. Problem solved! Option Two: What else could be done about this you ask? Good question! Make it so that the forum creator and staff only can invite people to write on the thread. Basically, the forum is open for everyone to see, but only a select few can post. But oh no you say! This is far too confusing! Well, then there could be a handy dandy tutorial for all to view to help complete this. If that's too confusing for you, then just use common sense and you won't have to use this section of the forums ever. Other Information: Before you post on here, please actually read the thread thoroughly. And use your common sense, don't just say, "Minus 1" and don't give an answer. Know your facts, don't be stupid please. I am currently not in the mood to have an argument with a brick wall. Link to this plugin: N/A
I agree with Option 1 fully, mini-modders all in all annoy me so much. Option 2 however isn't possible with xF currently.
I try to keep up on ban appeals/complaints because I have a large town and it makes sense to keep track of who's maybe not a good customer. It seems like the trolling/unnecessary posting is at most the same 10-20 people over and over again, who have figured out that they can accumulate an infinite number of forum warnings without consequences. Why not develop a standard of how many warnings for unnecessary posts = trolling, thereby inviting a ban for trolling? Wouldn't have to change any rules -- that rule already exists. Wouldn't take discretion out of the staff's hands -- it's still their call when a post is or isn't appropriate. I had a player in my town get temp-banned for griefing someone else's farm. She's not that kind of player, I firmly believe it was an oversight on her part, and she totally admitted her mistake. In that context, I felt it was appropriate to post on her ban appeal. Under your proposed rule, how would mods ever know I had information to offer? I feel you're right that there's a problem there -- but I think the problem could be addressed with a different application of existing rules by the staff.
To answer what you said in your first paragraph, on how there can just be more warnings. No. That obviously isn't working. A week ban in game will do the dandy trick! To answer your second question, on whether you can post or not. Just forum pm her to add you to the conversation, or she will add you herself. Simple.
That response is the dumbest I've seen in a long time. And that's saying something! There's no substance to it. If you want to say something of the sort, elaborate.
What you're saying is still gibberish to me. How would this kill the forums exactly? This would only be under the complaints section of the forums. And I'm not liking the hostility.
Option 1: Please no. Keep forums separate from ingame. Option 2: I agree with @jmichael214 's statement. I would only tweak the forum warning system to make it 3 strikes. 3 warnings, 3 day forum Tempban.
For the first thing you said; I don't think banning people from the forums will be a good thing. The forums is used to notify people, plan, and stay in contact with others. If somebody were to file a complaint about said user, and they were banned, what would they do? They could not respond or anything at all. In game, I could care less if you can't spend an hour doing some repetitive task.
The whole point in a forum is for everyone to contribute, within the rules, and this would ruin ECC' (and any other forum) completely.
Then what is the rule saying no posting on complaints that don't pertain to you for? Enforcing that rule a bit more would ruin ECC? I think not, it would highly enhance it!
I didn't say i didnt agree with enforcing it more than it already is. I have stated that above. I am talking about the general idea of a forum...
Banning ingame does not stop issues on the forums. As for filing a complaint on you while you are forum banned; that honestly sucks. Shouldn't have gotten banned in the first place by trolling.
I still don't understand why people think that xD Its like saying your getting temp banned on TS for doing something on the forums? It seems daft.
It's a repercussion. Which would help the trouble maker learn a lesson, getting banned on the forums or in game? I honestly would not care if I was banned on the forums and would continue to do the same action over and over again.
Any reasoning behind it? A -1 doesn't give me answers (To the reader: If you're seeing the minus one it just goes to show why we need a disagree option!)
