Minecraft Username: miniCLH Suggestion: When you get scammed you should get a refund Reason: Getting scammed on ECC is not very cheerful and positive towards the players and can start Feuds and fights between players, If you have hard evidence that the user scammed you or the user was found guilty in a complaint then you should get a refund, this would cutback scamming as if people knew they would get a refund then there would be no objective apart from the scammer getting banned, If the player also gets banned and doesn't plan on returning to the server the hard earned money that was scammed just goes away due to the inactivity, this just wastes the money that was scammed when it could be returned to the owner. This has been suggested many times, but rejected every one. I'd like for whatever money was scammed that's still in the scammer's balance that is yours to be sent to you (If enough is in balance) or their town (if mayor and scam was above say 40k) It's a waste to see your money in their balance just go away when they're banned for 3 months+ +1, but I don't see it happening.
Well here's the thing if you get refunded what happens to the money the scammer scammed from you? Also I don't think that andrewkm wants more money in the economy so the refund would give both scammer and user who was scammed this money way more money in the economy.
Like creator said, this has been suggested countless times. And denied countless times. Besides the obvious factors that are bad, such as Andrew having increased work time, since he's the only only one who can "give" money and for obvious reasons, no one else should have that ability. He also has to sort things out. If the scammer decides to file an appeal 2 months down the road, does Andrew suddenly decide to drain whatever money out of your balance? Aka, awesome way to make money if you have a second internet connection. Just buy another profile, scam all 100k that you own. Wait around 2 months, then you've doubled your money. It would also be impossible to keep track of because, what if you get scammed a ton of items? Andrew ofc isn't going to refund you for items.
Okay so here goes my response as to how this can be abused. Me and my buddy decide we are a little short on cash. So, my buddy 'scams' me 100k. I then run to Andrewkm, "I need 100k, it was scammed off me." Andrewkm spawns the 100k in my bal. Then my buddy appeals, gets unbanned after a very long tempban as punishment (because if we are refunding money, then the money scammed will no longer need to be repayed.) Now my buddy has 100k extra and I have 100k. Profit.
well andrew checks logs, sees what was stolen from you, takes from that persons balance and pays it back to you.
If andrew did that everytime someone was scammed how could he run the server there are so many scams going on right now it is just insane even skylexia would not have time to do that.
it would be a group effot. Possibly even game admins can do them although giving the /pay command to even a game admin could destroy the economy in a matter of minutes.
Take the money from the person who scammed you. I believe negative balances are possible correct if that person doesn't have enough.
The money should not be provided from the server, it should be provided from the person doing the scamming. In addition to paying everything back that they scammed, they also deserve to recompense additional punitive damages to the person they scammed. I disagree with this, if the person didn't have enough money their balance would be negative. Were back on that "One chance no forgiveness" area.
BUT. Using essentials as your plugin for economy which I believe this server has considering /worth and /bal and such are IN essentials andrew could simply do this: User "A" scams user "B" out of 50k. User A is banned. User B wants a refund. Andrewkm does /eco take usera 50,000 from there he transfers said funds from A's balance into B's balance. Simply take and give, no duplication involved.
Duplication is very easily involved. PlayerA has no money, and scams playerB PlayerB earns 50k out of thin air. I could easily come, scam myself out of everything I own, and earn it all back. If my now banned scammer account ever got unbanned, I would easily make profit.
My situation is ONLY involved IF: Player "A" has the money. If not they should be given two weeks or so to earn and pay back the money.
There's still the issure that Andrew/Sky don't have time to do tons more work, and players would be unhappy about GAdmins being able to take money from balances.
