Minecraft Name: KainHighwind16 Suggestion: I think that if someone is reported for scamming and is proven guilty that they should not just have to give back what they took but lose money too. Reason: There is no real punishment for scamming other than a temp ban for a day. Any Other Information: Just take 10k out of the scammers balance or make a different way of collecting Link To This Plugin: N/A
This would be more of deterrent, 1 day tempban dosent seem very severe. Differing levels of fines depending on the severity of the scam?
Yeah I was thinking the same kind of thing, like if someone scammed a melon sword compared to a pumpkin axe the fine would be more for the melon sword scammer.
I think that the fine for the scam should be to pay the server the amount he/she scammed the person out of. For example, if you scan someone out of dirt, they would only have to pay the server $.05, including paying the player $.05. But if they scammed someone out of a melon sword, they would have to pay back a ton of money to both the player and the server, for what they did wrong. This would help the server reduce it's inflation, and make the person scammed feel that he got his justice. After all, it's really hard to get all of the screenshots, and more than half of the reports I look at don't have the evidence needed.
Well what i am suggesting is that the scammer still has to pay the victim back, but also lose money on top of that to the server in other words the money is just gone.
Sadly, this isn't the first time this was suggested, I would like to point to a previous thread about a similar suggestion: http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/suggestion-ecc-legal-system-reformation.51139/ Just saying, fining people has been suggested before, clearly I agree with it. That being said, I honestly doubt it will be implemented due to the power it would have to grant to staff members. Do you want staff to have the ability to /fine Kainhighwind16 2000. What if that gets abused w/o notice? This type of thing is way too abusable. Revanrose6
Generally speaking a moderator is trustable, but even I, fear that someone could abuse that power. I would say that if it was given it would be GA+ or SA+. If it was GA+ it could be used a lot more widespread and could be used on everything, but, there would be 7 people out there who could do some serious damage if they felt like it. (I'm not saying they would by any means). If it was SA+ then only Skylexia/Andrewkm could do it. In that case it would only work for high profile cases because they don't have time to fine every single scammer out there. On a plus side, it would help take money out of the economy. Revanrose6
reserve the fines for game admin and/or server admin, and restrict them to situations where the person scammed 25K or more (or you pick some amount). This would restrict who has the power, and keep the amount of additional workload down a bit.
GA, they don't get be a GA without learning something about how the place works Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 4
I agree. Scammers get off way to easy. A simple complaint, they say "I didn't mean to!!!" then give it back and its all fine. Then, they do it again, again and again. It annoys me. I think people should get banned for scamming even if they do give it back in the end.
Well if there is a way to notify the user when the /fine command is used like a auto mail is sent to them i think that could almost completely fix that issue. I also agree it would be a great way to take money out of the economy.
Agreed right now this is what I see happening: Player A scams player B. Player B posts complaint w correct evidence. Player A returns money cause they are forced to. Player A then scams player C. Because there was no real punishment for scamming player B player A can do this without worry. Player C does not have correct evidence. Player A gets away with it this time.
So true this is why there needs to be punishment, I don't think it would be that hard to put a fining system in place there has to be a way to make a /fine command that just removes the money from the user's balance so that mods don't have the power to /fine and keep the money.
